This thing works great. The construction isn’t super sturdy but it’s made to hold shoes not weights. That being said it’s better if you connect two of them together. I keep cedar shoe trees in all of my shoes which adds a significant amount of weight to each shoe and still it’s very sturdy. You could screw it to the wall for added stability but my baseboards didn’t allow for that. If you are only buying one unit then you will likely need to screw it to a wall, as a single unit mine would topple over with more than three pairs on it but with two units clipped together this thing is really stable, but to be fair my shoes are really heavy, especially when you add cedar shoe trees. As for the people saying they had trouble putting this thing together, I suspect they’re not very handy. This thing is super simple to put together I didn’t even need the instructions. This thing is no-frills, it’s not very stylish but it gets the job done for a great price and I suspect it’s going to last a lot longer than those cheap partical board shoe cubbies.

I just put It together, but it was missing the 5th center and back piece so I’m waiting for a replacement. I purchased two sets to stack as a tower. As other customers have said it is not sturdy unless you are doing a side-by-side stack of 3. For my application, it will go in the corner of a closet, giving stability, enabling me to stack a tower of 12. that will aid in sturdiness. Size- The plates are tiny-that’s a girls size 2 sneaker on top for reference. I can get my size 12 high heel pumps, but my size 13 sneakers do not fit and cause it to tip over. Because my child can be a bit rough, I may drill two screws and glue the plates as they do come off very easily. (Carrying it with no shoes caused it to separate into 3 different pieces.) It comes with clips to hold it together if you choose to do a side by side application. Despite the issues with sturdiness I do recommend this product. The best use would be doing a stack of three and use the clips for a side-by-side application.

These broke immediately upon assembly. It was just a small part and there were replacements so I brushed it off and kept them. Bad decision, these things break so fast and so easily it was a total waste of money. Within weeks they were tilting over due to weight of shoes. If you move them over they immediately are disconnected and you have to reassemble. Just terrible. I’ve had them for 6 months and they’re going in the trash.

It is a great idea. But even though it snaps together it is still flimsy. Reinforced it with Gorilla tape, and it is much stiffer.

Pros: Saves space. Easy to assemble. Easy to clean. Very light weight. Looks good in my room or the entry way. Cons: Very flimsy, pieces comes off very easily, it doesn’t hold up its shape. The material that that was used for the shoe rack is soft and bends. Can’t hold up my Doc Marten boots as you can see in the photo. There is an easy fix which is to stack them up to 2 or 3 but then it defeats the purpose of saving space. Not really worth the 30 something dollars I spent for the 6 tier one.

Love this shoe rack. I live in a tiny studio apt, so I'm always on the look out for space saving, low profile organizational products. These were great! I originally planned to sit them 3x3 next to this little end table, but once they arrived I realized it fit perfectly underneath it. The rack was easy enough to put together, and is sturdy enough (there's a bit of wobble to it, but it doesn't feel like it's going to fall apart or anything). When putting the levels together check the back to make sure the joints are all lined up/there aren't gaps btwn one level and next. Also give each peg section a good knock or two with the included plastic hammer, even if it feels like the pens are in securely. Also - I wear a women's size 10 in shoes and they all fit perfectly in the spaces.

As many others have said, these are super flimsy and not sturdy at all. They're weirdly a little hard to put together because the bits don't always want to fit nicely in their little slots. The included mallet was useful. I got the grey, but it's really more of a greige. Suuuuper ugly! I spray painted them. Definitely glue the pieces together when you figure out how you want it, or it will completely fall apart if you need to move it at all. I also screwed mine directly into the wall because it seems like it will tip over.
