I’m older (64) and learning to skate. My small hands couldn’t pull the laces tight enough. The combo of waxed laces and this tool solved the problem! It’s a bit tricky to get the metal top down inside u set the “x” to pull on the laces - I do wish the tip was slightly tapered, but it works!!!

For what it is it works, it will tighten your laces. The hook could be a little bit more tapered and the handle a bit more durable. Cheap construction but hey what you get is what you pay for, typical made in China cheap quality.

Seemed like good value for money. I wanted to give as gifts to friends who ice skate too. As I use these to pull laces tighter. Which they work. But I think they’d hook in faster /easier to skate laces if the metal was less thick. They certainly are sturdy and lightweight.
