I got a magnetic hoop for Christmas and just felt like having an extra set of magnents would make the fabric feel more secure on the hoop. These arrived and the first thing I noticed was that they had some sort of black substance on them. Grease perhaps but it smeared and came off on my hands. Then I noticed that the bottom of one of the magnents was not flat. There was a big of a slant to it so it didn't make connection with the hoop correctly. Then I noticed the strength of the magnents. I bought these to help secure my quilt blocks to a steel embroidery hoop to do machine quilting. They were a bit of a disappointment. Did not have the same strength as the magnets that came with the hoop. I would not purchase them again.

These are so much more effective than the original top hoop that I purchased a long time ago. I purchased eight of them for my very large hoop and it is very effective, holding the quilt fabric in place. Very good product.
