I've always wanted one of these and, for the price, thought I'd give it a try. The Shintenchi kitchen bar does require some assembly. The directions a fairly easy to follow and it didn't take long for it to come together. There is also a PDF available online, though I found it to be pretty much the same, but good to know in case something happens to yours. Set is cute. It does need a little shimmy here and there to keep the little bit of rock from happening, but that is to be expected with the price point. After assembling the table and the chairs and the bench sat in the first chair and the front legs snapped in half then called Amazon got a quarter of the money refunded which it has not shown on the account yet in the second and one of the legs snapped in half this is a poorly made cheaply product that’s not worth the time to buy . ... show more

I ordered 2 gray tables and instead got 2 black tables with one table top damaged and one chair missing pieces. I didn’t bother opening the second box. Was leery about doing so, plus it was the wrong color so I am leaving it boxed to have picked up and sent back. Customer service reps varied from extremely rude and obnoxious to helpful and kind. Spoke with 4 people over the course of 2 days about the damage and wrong shipment and was finally able to arrange an exchange, however a weeks wait for delivery has then updated to10 days. ... show more

What a fabulous kitchen dining set, I love everything about it. First, it's so compact, however still has adequate space to fit two adults and 2 kids. I like the black finish, fits perfectly into my decor. I love the shelves on the side to store wines, bar utensils, or whatever kitchen accessories one would prefer. It's made with strong durable materials, and once put together it's very sturdy. Assembly took about an 1-11/2 hour pretty straightforward, just keep everything organized. The chairs are approximately 3ft from floor to top of backrest. The 3 open shelves on the end is the perfect place to store your most used condiments like salt and pepper or various bottles.
