I grabbed the 2 pack for the break room so trainers can clean up before clients or after a shower. It holds braids and ponytails pretty well and doesn’t flake on the towels, which matters when i’m doing laundry every day. Texture is nice, not too stiff, and the shine looks clean on camera when we film content. My gripe, it builds up faster than i like. If they use it two days straight without washing, the hair starts looking heavy.

This is a great product usually I buy the large jar but saw these two smaller ones for a good price so I ordered it leaves hair shiny great for slick back ponytails but I mostly use to do twists styles to my hair good on putting on your edges along with edge control the two come together tightly packaged without any damage love this product

This gel performs well. It provides strong hold, keeps the hair in place, creates clean parts, and adds noticeable shine, which I appreciate. The challenge is that it appears to trigger allergic reactions for some clients. During appointments, a few experience persistent sneezing, and others report scalp irritation or reactions afterward/contact dermititis. I’ve also noticed occasional sensitivity myself, though it seems inconsistent and may vary by batch. Because of this, I’m actively looking for an alternative that offers the same level of hold and shine without the ingredients that may be causing these reactions. I've attached pictures of one scalp. I forgot to add, for my daughter, it turned her hair from color 2 to color 4. I stopped using it. I now use the African Pride Leave-in conditioner for her hair and her color 2 color has returned.

I actually ordered this last minute, needing some products to do for my kids hair for school. All my kids have different hair types/textures in this product honestly works magic on all four of their hair types from 4C in between all the way to 3C. I definitely recommend. I saw a beautiful braider on IG using this product so I had to give it a try. For reference, I am caucasian and I use it on caucasian hair. I do intricate viking braids. They need to be neat and tidy. And, I need to be able to grip the hair. And I need the gel to not flake or be stiff. Shine & Jam delivers on all fronts. I can grab the tiny little baby hairs and get them in with the braid for pure perfection. I don't have to deal with fly aways. I can re-do my husband's hair every day if he wants me to, regardless of wash day. There is no leftover scent. There is no stiffness. There is no reason why I would try another product now that I've found S&J. Love this gel.

My 1 year old has very curly 4c hair. This smoothes her hair, makes it easy to comb and gets her edges. prevents me from having to snatch her hair to tight and lets her edges grow. If you have 4c you know it can look dry very easily. This product prevents that. Biggest con is that the build up is insane. I have to wash it more then usual. But it comes out well with an oil or co wash. Also it makes styles a bit stiff... but it has been a saving grace for my 4c girl. HIGHLY recommend, a little goes a LOOONG way. so a 2 pack would last a yr or so
