This rocker is exactly what I wanted. It is a very good looking, comfortable rocker. It is well made and all parts fit precisely together. This is not a complaint, but the rocker is not a super strong rocker. If you want a sturdy hard wood rocker then you should buy an Amish made one for 500-700 dollars. But if you want a good functional, occasional rocker, this is it. It is easy to assemble and mistake proof. I have one suggeston before you begin assembly. Buy a longer handle Allan wrench and some liquid nails. Take the wrench that is included with your rocker to your local hardware store and buy a longer handle wrench and a good Phillips screwdriver. Yes you can assemble the rocker with the included tool but I think you will be much better off with better tools (the allan wrench and phillips screwdriver), and adding some glue where the parts go together. I do not think this rocker will handle very heavy people, say over 225 lbs. Yes it will hold them but any continued rocking or shifting weight I think will be damaging. I am not an engineer but if you look at my photos you will see that the back of the rocker is the weak link. The back portion is already weak from the hole for the leg and therefore is prone to breakage at that point. With all that said I think this rocker is a very good deal and I am 100% pleased with mine. I recommend this for anyone who wants a good looking functional rocker. I needed to replace a porch rocker and this one fit the bill. It was quality material and assembled easily. I have had bad experiences with other put together furniture from other sources. They were poor quality, the holes weren't drllled properly, the hardware was loose in the packing and the assembly tool inadequate and instructions written by someone who did not speak English. I was pleasantly surprised to see the hardware shrink wrapped on cardboard with this rocker. It included a multipurpose hex wrench, and easy to follow directions and diagrams. Chair is fairly easy to assemble, and comfortable. Bought 2 chairs 13 months ago. Took them out of storage 3 weeks ago. Have only enjoyed them for a few days and one chair developed cracks in both runners, making the chair unusable. The second chair seems ok. NOT very Happy !!!!!

The media could not be loaded. This is one case where I should have paid more attention to the negative reviews. We purchased this rocker in March, but didn’t put it on our porch until the end of May. It is mid June, and it has become very wobbly/unsturdy. My husband won’t let anyone sit in it for fear that it will collapse. He tightened screws and did everything he could, but it didn’t help. He said something was very wrong with it. Since he is in construction, I trust his word completely on the matter. I am beyond the Amazon return window, so I contacted the manufacturer. First, good luck reaching them. Their email address bounces back failures. When I called them and finally spoke to someone, they did answer my email. Basically, I’m out of luck. Because Amazon takes possession of the actual product, it allows the manufacturer to get out of the warranty. They insinuated mishandling had resulted in this shoddy rocking chair. Specifically from their email: The management team has taken your case seriously. And after careful review, the following conclusion was reached: Because your order was purchased from Amazon, we do not handle any returns or exchanges from retailers. The reason is because after retailers purchase from us, they have full ownership of the products and are able to resell the products according to their terms which include returns, refunds, and exchanges policies. We are simply following retailers and suppliers business model. Per your inquiry regarding manufacturing warranty, our warranty comes with limited terms and conditions and covers defects in manufacturing and workmanship of the furniture components. Unfortunately, under clause #1 in the warranty states that “Shine Company shall not be liable for neglect of necessary care; improper assembly or mishandling of products, unintended or unreasonable use of products, deliberate misuse of products, the application of paint, varnish, or other chemical coating except where recommend by Shine Co., abuse of hardware caused defects by their assembly.” So this was an expensive lesson. My first pleasant surprise was to come home this afternoon and find the box on my doorstep. I ordered it yesterday, and lately it seems that whenever Amazon says something will be here by 10 PM, it means that it won't be coming until the next day. With so many people saying how they used a power drill, I was sure this would take me forever with the allen wrench that was included, but no, installation was a breeze. I did just what people said and didn't tighten the screws until the end (thank you, people! You were SOOOO right!). And the best part was that I knew when I had everything screwed together well enough because the buttons wouldn't go on otherwise - LOL. I DID have two F's and no G, but I'm pretty sure that they were the same piece - just with different letters. I would recommend this chair and if a neighbor were buying one, I would gladly volunteer to put it together for them, which I can't say about many things! ... show more

Bought a set of white rockers for my back patio in May and it’s been a few months and the paint is all cracked and showing streaks. They rock well but I’m worried that they will not hold up for next year. Very disappointed since I went with these thinking they were true Vermont rockers.
