This portable air conditioner displays two cooling capacity numbers: Which number should you trust? The SACC rating. SACC (Seasonally Adjusted Cooling Capacity) gives you a more realistic estimate of how the unit will perform in your actual living space. The ASHRAE number is higher because it does not account for real-life factors like heat leakage through windows, doors, or walls. Key point: The unit itself is the same – only the testing method changed. Since 2017, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has required SACC as the standard for portable ACs to help consumers make fair, accurate comparisons. For real-world performance, please refer to the 7,500 BTU (SACC) rating. The 8,000 BTU cooling capacity can cool a room up to 200sq.ft. It allows you to adjust the temperature between 60℉ and 86℉ to enjoy a comfortable environment. The fan speed also can be adjusted in cool mode. In dry mode, water will collect inside the unit and must be drained by removing the plug from the bottom of the back of the unit.
