Description

Overhaul the old, worn-out shift cables and housing on your road bike with the Shimano Optislick Derailleur Cable and Housing Set. This set comes with everything you need to replace your front and rear shift cables and housing on your road bike. Stainless steel shift cables are highly corrosion-resistant, with an Optislick coating for smoother shifts and greater longevity. Sealed end caps keep out mud and grit encountered on the trail. Shimano's SP41 cable housing uses a special silicone grease for lighter shifting actuation. Please note, the included shift cables attach to both SRAM and Shimano derailleurs.

I don't think twice about using these more expensive cables with the modern Shimano shifters, like the Sora 9 speed in my case. With the tight turns that the cables need to make with these shifters and for smooth and reliable operation, these inherently slicker cables are not only worth the extra cost but also specified by Shimano for good reason for this key function on the bike. ... show more

This cable works well. It has low friction and seems durable, but if your bike has drop bars and bar-end shifters you might not have enough housing to complete one bike. You would think they could include enough housing to cover the worst-case scenario. The length of the inner cable is fine

I recently pieced together a bike with a 10-speed Shimano 105 derailleur (RD-5700) and it skipped some gears when shifting. I replaced the cable with this after researching and it worked like a charm. Nice ultegra optislick chain, probably the cheapest I'll ever find it. Ordering bike parts on here is like playing the lotto. Sometimes you win, usually you don't. But one thing is for sure, you won't get exactly what you ordered.
