This should be the gold standard for BFS fishing! I’m able to throw light lures a good distance and offer finesse presentations to bass which results in me getting more bites. Be very careful adjusting your brakes on these reels as even the finest adjustments make a big difference. A tip for anyone who continually backlashes is to make sure you have your line capacity at 80% it makes a HUGE difference. Other than that it’s your typical top quality Shimano gear. ... show more

    • Long distance casting with light lures. True BFS
I have used this reel for the last 5 fishing trips and I do got to say that it is a really nice reel. It is capable of casting very light lures easily and long distance. I was even casting into the wind and had no problems. I didn't get any backlash, I didn't have to tune the reel either, and it is very smooth casting. ... show more

    • My favorite reels!
Curado is a great reel and I have a dozen of them. Works like a charm! My only complaint on the BFS is the spool is large and unable to hold much line. If they could make the spool smaller would be a great improvement. Overall, the Curados are the go to reel for me.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my Curado reel and it works fantastic. It's bulkier than my other BFS reels, but it is buttery smooth. If you are looking for quality then it's a fantastic choice. The reel was exactly what I was expecting. I’ve used Shimano reels for a long time. You may be able to save some $$$ by purchasing a Chinese knock off, but when it comes to something I plan to use and keep for a long time I will not chance it on a cheaper knock off. More than I expected! I have Curado 70’s and was on the fence of the whole BFS scene period. I actually originally ordered it for my Megabass one ten stick to try and see how much distance I can get out of small jerkbaits. I spooled it with 6# suffix braid and it casts amazing! I ended up Buying a cashion element medium light to put it on and it outcasts all my medium light spinning rods. My dad’s as well. As a matter of fact he and a buddy of his are now in the market for them. We fish a clear water river so long casts are essential. I have a bunch of higher end rods/reels. Mostly shimano reels and st. Croix rods with a couple of exceptions such as the expride and the one ten stick, this reel paired with my cashion element for about a total of $300 with line is now hands down my favorite combo! I will be purchasing another Curado BFS but putting it on a cashion icon. ... show more

High quality and excellent value for the money. Light weight, smooth and comfortable in the hand. Minimal backlash issues. Of all my "bfs" reels this is one that stands out if I had to choose only one.
