Smooth like butter
Style: Cubfsxgl
If you’ve ever bought a Shimano reel then you know the refinement is top notch. Casts 1/8th oz lures a country mile. Haven’t gone below that weight yet but I’m sure with the right rod you’d be able to throw down to 1/16oz right out of the box. Reeling is buttery smooth as well as casting. Make sure to put the brakes on 3 or higher when casting into the wind or you will backlash, but using braid makes it picking out easily. There’s a slight play in the handle but I bet it was loose from the factory. I can tighten that up when I service it. Not the lightest bfs reel I own but the it not overly heavy. With the hagne body the helps it feel compact with little play. Got a deal on the left handed version so had to jump on it. I’ve seen other curado and slx bfs go through abuse and still be in good working order so durability isn’t a worry. The 8 pounds of drag is plenty to subdue even 3 pound bass that put up a fight. Great real for throwing smaller baits in pressured fishery’s.

High quality, current favorite. Love the drag clicker.
Style: Cubfsxgl
My current favorite reel. Brakes are a little finicky, but it’s a pleasure to use. Wish it came in a lower gear ratio. High quality materials. Casts 8lb braid very nicely. Sweet spot is around 1/4oz, but can go down to 1/16th pretty easily with the right rod. Pricey but you get what you pay for - well worth it. Love the clicker drag.

Phenomenal reel!
Style: Cubfsxgl
More than I expected! I have Curado 70’s and was on the fence of the whole BFS scene period. I actually originally ordered it for my Megabass one ten stick to try and see how much distance I can get out of small jerkbaits. I spooled it with 6# suffix braid and it casts amazing! I ended up Buying a cashion element medium light to put it on and it outcasts all my medium light spinning rods. My dad’s as well. As a matter of fact he and a buddy of his are now in the market for them. We fish a clear water river so long casts are essential. I have a bunch of higher end rods/reels. Mostly shimano reels and st. Croix rods with a couple of exceptions such as the expride and the one ten stick, this reel paired with my cashion element for about a total of $300 with line is now hands down my favorite combo! I will be purchasing another Curado BFS but putting it on a cashion icon.

Shimano Curado BFS baitcasting reel.
Style: Cubfsxgl
This reel has become my go to when fishing. Easy on the body and cast a long way. Solid drag when fish is hooked. It is smooth as butter.

Decent reel for the money
Style: Cubfsxgl
The reel seems to be well built. It fits the hand well and has a smooth drag. Feels like it is priced a little high for what appears to be a very basic reel. I hope it holds up long term to justify the price. I am happy overall.

My favorite reels!
Style: Cubfsxgl
Curado is a great reel and I have a dozen of them. Works like a charm! My only complaint on the BFS is the spool is large and unable to hold much line. If they could make the spool smaller would be a great improvement. Overall, the Curados are the go to reel for me.

Great reel for its purpose
Style: Cubfsxgl
The reel was exactly what I was expecting. I’ve used Shimano reels for a long time. You may be able to save some $$$ by purchasing a Chinese knock off, but when it comes to something I plan to use and keep for a long time I will not chance it on a cheaper knock off. This is now my favorite setup for small river kayak fishing.

Long distance casting with light lures. True BFS
Style: Cubfsxgl
I have used this reel for the last 5 fishing trips and I do got to say that it is a really nice reel. It is capable of casting very light lures easily and long distance. I was even casting into the wind and had no problems. I didn't get any backlash, I didn't have to tune the reel either, and it is very smooth casting.
