The frame cover is made from a thick 7.5 oz polyethylene that provides protection against harmful UVA and UVB rays from the sun. The cover attaches easily to the carbon steel 1 3/8 inch tube frame with our ratcheting cover rail tension system. The Ratchet-Tite and Easy-Slide system keeps the cover smooth and in place for maximum protection for all of your livestock and stored agricultural items. The frame has also been powder coated to resist chipping, peeling, corrosion, and rust, ensuring your shelter looks like new for years to come. ShelterLogic 8' x 10' x 5' Small Round Livestock and Agricultural Storage and Shade Shelter Kit ...is fantastic. I purchased one last year and found it to be extremely effective in shading from the sun, wind, rain, and snow. The second one I just purchased and assembled in a few hours by myself. It helps to have someone help you, but takes just a bit longer to assemble by yourself. The anchors they supply are top notch and stands up to 55 mph and beyond. The only complaint I have is that the box does come a bit roughed up, but no worries nothing in side is damaged or dented. UPS just doesn't like boxes that are heavy.. :) ... show more

Perfect for our goats and even held up in strong winds(couldʻve lucked out with wind direction though) blowing 50mph steadily.

Goats tore the top up in about a year and a half. A replacement cover was $200. Not worth the cost to replace so I used a heavy tarp on the frame.

UPDATE: tarp lasted exactly 2-years with a small flock of sheep. The frame is very flimsy--that started to go after about a year but was still usable. The tubing is very thin metal. very sturdy tarp--much more so than I anticipated for the price and something coming in a box. Time will tell but my sheep have jumped up on it (as sheep do) and I don't see any sign of scratching or indentations etc. I put this up by myself in 2 hours and I'm not terribly handy (hence buying a box shed instead of building one.) ... show more

    • Missing parts.
I ordered this as a temp shelter for my goats as we move them around the property to help clean up the brush growing up. Went to put it together and first thing I noticed is the instructions are garbage. Then I realized that I was missing 2 main pieces of the frame. Called customer service for shelter logic and they originally said parts and shipping would be free just wait on their email. Got the email the next day and all the sudden it’s 45 dollars in parts plus shipping cost. What a load of crap. I promise you this will be the only shelter logic pos I will ever own as I absolutely refuse to ever do business with them again. ... show more

As an Engineer I am extremely pleased with the quality of this portable livestock shelter. This is not a flimsily constructed shelter. Yes, assembly is required and the instruction manual is good. I really don’t have any criticisms, but if there is one it would be I have rocky soil and the screw-in anchors will be a bit difficult. I may have to use different style anchors. We intend to use this product to shelter our three Katahdin sheep. 5 stars. ... show more

    • Broken / missing parts
More time consuming than expected. Broken parts. One of the bags of screws were already opened so maybe they sent me a product that someone else returned. The ratchet straps were also broken. Luckily I had some of my own I could use. After laying out all the parts I decided to work with what they sent me instead of sending it back. Also this product was offered to buy as a bundle with anchors to drill into the ground but it already came with anchors so I need to send the extra ones back. Overall it works for now and large enough that my 5 sheep seem to enjoy it for shade and it has not blown away. It looks nice and provides shade, material is thin but seems stable. 2 stars because of the missing and broke parts ... show more
