Marie Mackay has done it again. I absolutely love the omegaverse. I also love dark romance, and she has put both od them together to create a masterpiece. I fell in love with these characters so fast. Shatter is a very strong willed kind of also naive omega. But omg is she fiesty. Dusk, what can you say about his character, he is a bossy protective possessive a bit cantankerous Alpha, but underneath it all is just an alpha trying to save his packmates. Umbra is not quite what I expected but omg, his chemistry with Shatter was fire. Ransom, he's a giant mystery. The suspense of the why he's not with his pack at school, where he is, what happened? It kept me so intrigued, I could not put the book down. Then that cliffy and that noise....oooh!!! The anticipation has me chomping at the bit for the next book. I cannot wait for part 2. This book has me rooting for the guys who aren't the scent matches for once and I am so here for it. I highly recommend this book, but also make sure you read the trigger warnings first to make sure it's something you will be able to read.

This book was good. I am gonna read books 2 and 3 or parts. 2 and parts, 3 is what I'm going to do. But these books are right here were, I really mean, it wasn't really a slow burn in like one of my favorite content creators. It's fond of saying FM. C's, I totally hate. I love the Poisonverse, in particular Havoc, but this installment takes the cake! The angst and drama, the mystery... I'm on the edge of my seat for all the pieces to be slotted into place If you've read from this author or this universe before, you are going to love it. If this is your first book in the universe, it's still a pretty accessible intro Onto the content of the story; I was hooked from the first page. Shatter is an omega full to brimming with strength matched by uncertainty and doubt. Dusk is her enamored "captor" determined to steal her heart and save her from threats she doesn't yet know. Umbra is intense, absolutely devoted, but his trauma and self-harm add a layer of reservation. And Ransom is an unknown quantity that I can't wait to learn about. All four of them have a mysterious past that they either actively suppress or can't remember but one thing is clear: Shatter's fated mates are not the heroes. The emotions, writing style, and (above all) drama makes this book such an enticing and gripping read. Not to mention the level of spice is just right ;)

Although I almost DNF’d this a few times, it wasn’t terrible. I had a hard time getting into it at first but I have a tendency to be judgy, particularly when I’ve just come off a really good book with amazing writing (ahem, Carissa Broadbent - iykyk). But, I pushed myself to keep going. My almost final straw was when one of the MMC won a coin toss with the FMC and his reward? Cuddles. He. Asked. For. Cuddles. Some might find this sweet or endearing, I found it weird as all get out lol. I really almost lost it when the FMC was talking to a mop in a dusty attic pretending it was her “new best friend”- that she just met and doesn’t have that deep of a relationship with (⚠️stage 5 clinger⚠️). Speaking of the FMC, she is incredibly annoying. She’s naive to a point where you’re just like, “surely no one is THIS out of touch….right?” 🥴 Anyways, what kept me going and convinced me to purchase parts 2 & 3 is the plot. There’s enough mystery and intrigue there that it’s got me interested and want to know what’s going on. The smut definitely isn’t the worst I’ve read, but certainly not the best either. I’d give it 2.5 🌶️s. This is my first book by this author and my second OV - I’m still trying to figure out if “slick” is an omega term or just this author’s way of describing…wetness 😶 also, is the whole ‘blown out pupil’ thing an OV trait? Or another of this author’s quirks? Anywho, yeah I suppose it’s worth a read if you can get past how annoying the FMC is lol. We’ll see if I make it through both of the next 2 books 😬

This is definitely one of the most unique omegaverse books I've read, and I'm totally here for it! It's dark, angsty, and full of mystery. Shatter is the most feral and unstable omega I've seen in a book. Her hormones and omega instincts are completely unbalanced, and she's kind of learning how to do this whole omega thing. Dusk is everything! I live for him. The whole book, I'm just screaming at Shatter in my head, "Just love him!!!" His attention to detail and the way he just knows what she needs is perfect. Umbra is like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He's sweet and quiet one minute, and the next he's freaking out. I won't say anything about Ransom so I don't give any spoilers. I love how the flashbacks and the notes on Shatter are slowly piecing everything together. I have my theories based on those, and I can't wait to see if I'm right on any of them. I'm enjoying how this book is doing the omegaverse stuff like scent matches, packs, auras, heats/ruts, nests, etc. I do think the book needs a good proofreading. The cliffhanger had me screaming! Heck, the whole last chapter had me on the edge of my seat chanting, "Don't do it!" I can't wait to start the next book to see what happens next!

I mistakenly read this thinking it would help me go back to sleep and now I’ve been up all night eating this up. Left no crumbs. Utterly delicious. Gimme 14 of them right now. Neither rejected mates nor RH are usually isn’t my thing but these characters…. Don’t blend. Holy gods. I love them all. They’re are so good and are unique! Dusk Varis deals in (tw) dubious consent while his pack mate Umbra deals in trades of the karmic (tw self harm) variety and then we have Ransom who has to deal with being shackled to a wall. Shatter our FMC is actually shattered and they all are decidedly broken people. They are all so flawed but you can’t help but root for them. I loved the relationship development… eeek you could never make me hate them….… but also the plot is so dark and mysterious I can’t wait to see where this goes. Justice for the kingsman pack. I’m hooked!

OK. I'm sorry I seriously judged this by the captions and put it off as another girly cutesy omegaverse book.. not even close!!! This is a saga and a love story and a tragedy and a survival story. I'm half way through book 2 and I am craving so much more!! These books are well editted and well written with an amazing psychological thriller hook. And some hot as soon sexy time. As well as all the love and commitment you want from omegaverse. Id recommend this to anyone who likes thrillers. It's not a university style YA love story

Wow. This one was dark. There is an arsenal of trigger warnings for this one so PLEASE keep your peace of mind and read them before hand. That being said, I think I loved it. It was completely unhinged and dark and there is so much to the story that is finally unraveling. ALL the characters are damaged beyond comprehension at this point, but I can see where their similarities might be their saving grace. I can’t wait to see what part two holds because Ransom needs to make his debut.
