    • The best paint pens out there
I've used a number of different brands of paint pen, and I keep coming back to these oil-based sharpies, as they dry faster, have better color, and last longer than any of the others I've used. Just be sure to follow the instructions re: shaking, usage for best results.

Perfect for my project. Drawing faces and signs on plastic bags for Halloween. They are oil instead of water-based so they stuck. Great coverage, just go slow and don't try to cover a holes in color until completely dry or you'll make the pen stick and not work great The next time. I was able to clean off blemishes with alcohol and I can't currently speak to the longevity. I smelled no order off these pens. Believe the color on the cap. Not dark colors at all. ... show more

The reason for 4 stars is the Red is a weak red, not as bright red like the cap. I bought a set before and 2 of them dried up without me using them after a few months.

    • Surprisingly Good
I make collages and use paint pens to outline various parts. Posco is pretty much the best paint pen brand on the market, but they're expensive, so I have had to try alternatives for the colors I use most frequently - black, white, gold, and silver. This package had black and white, so I decided to try it out. Black was solid. Haven't tried the white yet. But I was actually surprised by the red and yellow. I usually avoid yellow paint pens because they never look right. Any color in the paper below tends to show right through. The Sharpie yellow is also pretty transparent, so I was going to write it off. However - layering the Sharpie yellow OVER the Posco yellow finally got me a deep, solid yellow. Maybe there's some unicorn paint pen out there that will give me my dream yellow, but I finally have SOMETHING that works. I was also surprised by the red. Its richer and shinier than the Posco red (which actually looks sort of pinkish), so it works well when you want darker colors. I like to layer the Sharpie with the Posco for really clear lines. ... show more
