I would not have thought it possible -- sharpie paint pens are expensive and stinky. These are affordable, have more colors, the pens come in two sized and all to colors I've used so far have had great coverage. The light pink for example will cover black, but when it tries you can just see through it. A heavier or second application would do it. I was just beginning my rock painting journey when I purchased these. They were just what I needed to get started. Overall, they are very easy to use - most don't need much shaking to get started and remain flowing, most flow evenly, and cover adequately. I have a couple that have stopped up and I can't get them going again and the paler shades , namely yellow, is too sheer...I have to put many coats on and usually just give up and use paint and a brush to get the job done. I purchased a package of various sized white Posca pens at the same time. They cover much better, but they cost considerably more too. That being said, I think this set is well worth what I paid for it. I am not much of an artist., I have just purchased a comparable number of Posca pens in hopes of improving the appearance of my work. I paid over twice as much for them, so we will see if I continue with Posca or return to these less expensive and perfectly adequate pens. ... show more

These work great and have great coverage. I have use on ceramic to make things more colorful. They are easy to use and handle. Kind of like a pen. There are a large variety of colors too.

Nice markers, work very well even after a long time. I use them intermittently, so having them continue to work is great. I store them on their side, not standing up. That may help.

No very good. I got these and half of them were dry. I kept them because I needed them and didnt have time to return or exchange.
