Our mailbox is made of cedar, painted white with the house number routed/inlaid into the post. Invariably, when painting the post — some white paint obscures portions of those numbers which are painted black. This Sharpie is PAINT not just your typical Sharpie ink. It should be much more durable on surfaces exposed to the elements. The tip is shaped perfectly to accurately paint the house numbers blavk after painting the post white. Excellent markers! Its hard to find a good oil based paint marker at a good price and this is a champ. Perfect sized sharp, smooth, quick writing nib/paint and they last a while for me, im not sure why people say they run out fast, plus you can add paints, inks or just plain solvents to extend the markers life if needed. Im not a sharpie fan for any of my writing but for black i'll always have one of these in the collection ... show more

Very black, very juicy, very nice. The tip falls out sometimes, which makes a mess. There's no great way to pick up a chunk of felt that's fully saturated in permanent ink without getting it everywhere. However, the marker is so good at what it does, it's worth the occasional nastypaw.

I have glossy black aluminum alloy wheels. I can't see the curb rash anymore, unless I get real close. The marker covered all the exposed metal very well. Super easy to apply. It's rained hard here a few times since and I've been through the car wash once. No fading!
