I love Sharpies. Every color, every thickness, every style. Truly, nothing beats a Sharpie. I have a special stash of Sharpies that my kiddos aren’t allowed to use, as they don’t treat them with the loving care that they deserve. I’m kinda joking but I truly do treasure them. I recently purchased a set for each child and they were ecstatic, so I know I’m raising them right. PROS {{COLOR CONSISTENCY}} Sharpies ink is vibrant and I’m always impressed with how consistently they apply onto paper. Unlike other brands/markers, you don’t get the lines when your stroke or the ink overlaps. It’s just smooooth. My penmanship and artistic abilities just look better than they really are. Who doesn’t like that? {{COLOR OPTIONS}} There are so many colors to choose from across all the various packages. I have purchased 4 different sets and have a plethora of colors. {{LAST A LONG TIME}} Sharpies last forever. Likely due to a combination of the cap securing attaching to the marker and the marker itself. I’ve had Sharpies that are well over 5 years and still work like new. CONS {{COST}} Sharpies can be expensive and feel like an investment compared to the prices of other markers. {{THEY BLEED}} My family has been coloring with Sharpies on heavy stock paper and bleeds through, to the point that you can see the complete image on the other side. It has not gone through the paper and onto the surface however I suspect it could with thinner paper. {{THEY STAIN}} This is the blessing and the curse of these markers. Watch children carefully. "Can I have a couple of those Sharpies? my sister asked me last week. "Absolutely NOT!" I snapped back. "What are you going to do with 24 Sharpies?" she countered. "I don't know. I just know you can't have any of them." Yes, that was a real conversation. I am a pen and marker hoarder and I love having lots of writing options. I picked up the package of 24 Sharpie Color Burst Permanent Markers quite a while ago and I love the colors. I love that they are permanent and bold. They haven't dried out at all and i rarely use them. I just like having them. I have started to use them to label different things and I even colored a few small pictures in an adult coloring book with them. I journal so I plan to use them to write in my journal but they do tend to allow me to only use one side of the paper. They don't leak through but they leave an impression. These are great for crafts, coloring, school projects, making posters, labeling different items, and almost anything when you want pretty colors that are permanent. The ink doesn't fade for a very long time. They can even be used on fabric. I felt bad that I wouldn't share with my sister considering we're in our 50's and no longer squabbling teenagers so I bought her a whole package. That way, she won't come near mine. Ha! More cons than pros. These were bought for holiday shrinky dink art with children so I needed a lot of good quality permanent markers in a wide range of colors. I bought two packages (color burst and electric pop) and ended up with 18 duplicate colors. I expected a few but not majority of the packages. Upon testing each color to create a swatch color guide I learned I have a few colors that straight out of the package seem to be low on color. Furthermore, when testing on plastic several of the colors do not show up at all rendering them useless for shrinky dinks since they are plastic. I think these are rather overpriced and don't typically buy them however I snagged these on an early black Friday special so they were deeply reduced making them a good value for the amount spent. Lastly, these took a full week to arrive even though they said prime shipping. Prime shipping is a joke these days... I think I would gotten a better variety of colors and certainly less duplicates by buying a bulk package off brand, possibly even more ink. ... show more

I've never been disappointed by Sharpie until now. Sharpie quality is consistent, and they're THE brand in permanent marker. You're probably quite familiar with them. I got them for coloring. Yes, you have to give up on the other side. Alcohol markers always bleed through. I literally have about a hundred alcohol markers. I'm not making that up - my case holds 80 and it's overflowing. Still, I couldn't pass these up when I saw they were roughly 3 for $1. I figured it would fill in a couple of color gaps, and I could keep this set at the office for spur-of-the-moment doodles as well as coloring get-togethers and everyday work labeling. Dark purple is the one color I don't have a good marker for (out of 100! How does that even happen?!), so it helped seal the deal. I didn't get any purple, and very few of the pale greens. DRAT. I got two lavender and a bunch of the dark blue. Awwww, Sharpie! You've never let me down before! Never! The price for the set is still decent, even with the disappointments, and I haaaaaaaate doing returns, so I'll keep them and donate the duplicates to my mother the school teacher. ... show more
