  • Really great markers (but not full size)
WOW! These are great acrylic paint markers! One of my favorite video acrylic painting teachers recommends these markers and uses them to sign her name on her painting at the end of each lesson. Another video teacher uses paint markers for projects that require a small line such as fine tree branches. I had purchased a couple of markers from a leading American acrylic paint brand and kept wondering why my markers didn't work like the ones in the video lessons. Then I saw this set and the price was so good I wanted to try them out. I LOVE these markers; the tips are actually as fine as advertised. The video instructor said she taped her caps on to be sure the markers wouldn't dry out. I think this set might be less expensive because the markers are smaller than the ones used in the videos. I don't think they are full sized Posca markers, but that is OK with me since it enabled me to get 12 beautiful colors. One full size marker of the American brand company cost about $7, while 12 markers in this pack was about $25 at the time I purchased them. I tried to find a volume on both brands of pen, but the Posca pen info is all in Japanese, and the American brand did not have a volume that I could find. I did find nib size--the Posca was 0.7mm and the American brand was 2.4mm. Both brands are about the same diameter, but the pens in this set are about an inch shorter than the other brand (Posca-4.75", other brand 5.5" with caps on). I tested the titanium white since some acrylic colors, such as yellow, are very transparent and need the area under them painted white first to give them good coverage. Both brands needed several coats of white to cover over a black line so I would say they were equal in transparency. I was concerned about the tips being firm enough to last a long time. I have a tendency to press too hard most of the time and some marker tips get mushy with use. Since the tip has to be pressed against a firm surface to prime with paint to get it flowing this could be a problem. I was pleased to see that the tips kept their point after pressing against the surface of my craft table (with a protective silicone cover over it). I needed a teal color but the set did not have teal. I pressed the tip several times to get a tiny puddle of a light blue and another puddle of yellow. I mixed a tiny bit of each color until I got a match close enough to what I needed, used a small paint brush to fill in where I needed to cover a mistake, and was very pleased with the result. I would highly recommend this set to any one wanting to try out acrylic markers. I don't know how long the markers will last since they are not full size, but I think if they are used carefully and capped immediately after use they will be OK. Tape placed around the cap edge of the marker to seal out any air leaks should help. The markers are a great size for adding to a travel crafts bag and would make great stocking stuffers for the painter/crafter in your family. ... show more

  • Wonderful pens
Great color quality! And fun to use, They are great, do not transfer color on the bottom sheet, and quick drying. Great value for money!

  • Great for painting/drawing on wood
These are really great. When you first get the paint to come down onto the tip of the marker, it is a little bit heavy, so you need to use it on practice paper or wood first before you use it on the place you want it to use it. But that said, once you get that done it works great. I paint and draw on wood and it works great for that. It is more opaque than a lot of the other paint markers I use and I really appreciate that I don't have to draw over the same thing over and over in order to get the paint dark enough. These are really fine points and it can be used to draw think lines, but you can fill in other parts that are not just lines but bigger areas. I would not say that you would want to use it to fill in big areas, but for something that is between 1-3 square inches it would be totally doable. ... show more

  • Really nice pens
I bought these as a Christmas gift, and my partner enjoys them! I like the number of colors included and how bright they are. The pens also write very smoothly, and they feel high-quality. They do take a bit to dry, and I would not suggest using them in a coloring book. That's to be expected with these kinds of markers. Overall, good product. We've had them for almost 8 months, and they're still super bright. Would definitely buy again. ... show more

  • Great value for the money
These pens are great. I have used them previously and they seemingly last forever. On the down side - and this is just me - I should have gotten the fine or medium. They are REALLY fine.
