A grinder wheel will work. This works better. I seem to dip tungsten’s often, or question tungsten being contaminated. This tool allows a quick touch up, as well as cut off heavily contaminated and regrind. Any contamination on tungsten will not go through guide bushing, don’t force it through, cut it off. The media could not be loaded. It sharpens the tungsten great and it does it fast. However after 3 days the Milwaukee charger stopped charging. Sending back for a replacement. Hopefully the new one lasts longer. New charger works good. Issue with the first charger may have been that the battery was to hot/warm from sharpening a whole bunch of tungsten ... show more

Absolutely love this tungsten sharpener...I used to have to use a grinder... and sometimes it got tiresome... and dangerous... this was a gift to myself, and investment into my welding career..I don't regret it...it was little pricey.. but I've used it day one..It took sometime to set up the angle and, pitch, or degree of the point of the tungsten..it took sometime but after i finally got the desired tip..I marked it just to make sure if I have to undo everything, it would already have the indication marks for my angle.. but my b welds look good.. and whenever I need to freshen my tip..its more convenient.. also I just keep it on my bag.. but I'm very happy with this product ... show more
