Love This Versatile Hair Styling System
Style: Blush Pink w/ Styling Concentrator
I love hair tools and have more dryers, straighteners, and styling devices than I probably need. I have long, thick, color-treated hair, so I’m pretty particular about what I use on it. I’ve tried quite a few high-end styling tools, including different air stylers, and I really appreciate products that make styling easier while helping me avoid unnecessary heat exposure. The Shark FlexStyle immediately caught my attention because of its versatility, and I absolutely love the blush color. This is a combination hair dryer and multistyling system that transforms from a traditional dryer into a styling wand with a simple twist. I think that’s one of the smartest features of the FlexStyle because it allows you to switch between drying and styling without needing two separate appliances. I have plenty of hair tools already, so I appreciate anything that combines multiple functions into one device. The blush color is another thing I really like. I love pretty beauty tools, and this is such a nice change from the usual black and gray styling devices. I know the color doesn’t affect performance, but I appreciate when a hair tool looks as nice as it is functional. One of the biggest advantages of the FlexStyle is its versatility. I have thick hair, and styling it can take quite a bit of time, especially when I want to do more than simply dry it. I appreciate having a tool that can handle the initial drying process and then transition into styling without requiring me to put everything away and pull out another appliance. I also really like that the FlexStyle uses controlled airflow for styling. I’ve become much more careful about heat exposure because my hair is color-treated, and I’ve experienced damage from overprocessing in the past. I still use heated styling tools, but I appreciate having options that are designed to regulate temperature rather than relying exclusively on extremely high heat. The four heat settings are another feature I appreciate. Different sections of my hair can require different amounts of heat, and I like being able to adjust the temperature depending on what I’m doing. I don’t always need the highest setting, especially when I’m finishing a style or working with sections that are already mostly dry. The three airflow settings are also useful. Having control over the airflow makes a difference when working with long, thick hair because I don’t necessarily want the same amount of air for rough drying as I do for more precise styling. I appreciate being able to adjust both heat and airflow rather than having only a couple of preset combinations. I also like the cool shot feature. I use cool air when finishing hairstyles because it can help set the shape after styling with heat. It’s particularly useful when creating curls or volume, and I appreciate having that option built into the tool rather than needing a separate dryer. Another thing I like about the FlexStyle is the ability to use different styling attachments. I enjoy experimenting with different hairstyles, from smoother blowouts to curls and volume, so I appreciate having a system designed for more than one type of styling. The versatility is a big part of what makes a multistyler appealing to me. I also appreciate that the FlexStyle can simplify the styling process. I wash my hair about once a week, so when I style it, I want to get good results that I can maintain for several days. I enjoy tools that help me create a polished style without having to switch between several different appliances. One thing I would point out is that airflow styling can require a little practice, especially when you’re accustomed to traditional curling irons or straighteners. The technique is different, and the results can depend on your hair type and how you prepare it. I think that’s true of most multistylers, though, and I appreciate the flexibility they offer once you become familiar with them. At the current price of $299.99, this is definitely a premium hair tool, but I think the combination of a dryer and multistyler makes it a good value. I own several expensive styling devices, and I appreciate products that offer multiple functions rather than requiring separate purchases for every hairstyle. Overall, I really like the versatile dryer-to-styler design, adjustable heat and airflow settings, and beautiful blush color. I have long, thick, color-treated hair, and I appreciate styling tools that give me more control while helping me be mindful of heat exposure. The FlexStyle is a great addition to a collection of high-quality hair tools, and I would definitely recommend it. ... show more

My Hella Hair and I Are in SEVENTH HEAVEN
Style: Blush Pink w/ Styling Concentrator
I have wanted one of these Shark hair styling systems FOREVER. Partly because I have hella hair, and partly because after hearing people rave about these things for what feels like years, I needed to know: IS IT ACTUALLY WORTH ALL THE HYPE?! Well... YES. YES, IT IS. 😂 My hella hair and I are currently residing in seventh heaven, and I'm wondering why it took me this long to join the party. First, the drying power is impressive. I have a LOT of hair, so drying it is not a cute little five-minute activity. It's an event. There are refreshments. Sometimes an intermission. 😂 The FlexStyle moves a serious amount of air and gets through my hair much faster than I expected without relying on the kind of scorching heat that makes me wonder if I'm styling my hair or preparing it for cremation. But then there are the AUTO-WRAP CURLERS. Ohhhhhhh. So THAT'S what everybody has been carrying on about! The airflow actually grabs the section of hair and wraps it around the barrel for you. There's definitely a little learning curve to figuring out section size, direction, and how close to hold the barrel, but once I got the hang of it... WHEEEEE! CURLS! 😂 For someone who normally flat-irons her naturally wavy hella hair and THEN goes back and curls it, being able to dry and style with one system feels borderline ridiculous. Why have I been running my hair through an obstacle course all these years?! I also really like the oval brush. It smooths while adding volume and bounce, and the combination of nylon and boar-style bristles helps tame the frizz without completely flattening everything. It's especially nice when I want that smooth blowout look rather than defined curls. Then there's the concentrator for more traditional drying and smoothing. Being able to switch between dryer, curling tool, smoothing brush, and concentrator without having four separate appliances sprawled across the bathroom counter is fantastic. And because I do have so much hair, I especially appreciate Shark's approach to temperature control. I'm still using heat on my hair, obviously, but the system is designed to regulate the temperature rather than just blasting it with maximum inferno. Considering how much time my hair spends in styling tools, I'll happily take less unnecessary heat exposure. The whole system also feels well made. The attachments connect securely, the controls are straightforward, and despite everything it can do, the main unit isn't ridiculously cumbersome to hold while working through a mountain of hair. The size is also surprisingly manageable considering everything this thing does. The main handle is longer than a traditional hair dryer, so there's definitely some length to it—especially once you add one of the styling attachments—but it doesn't feel huge or awkward in my hand. And with hella hair, I actually appreciate having something substantial enough to work through all of it without feeling like I'm trying to style a horse's mane with a travel dryer. 😂 It's also much more space-efficient than keeping a full-size dryer, curling iron, hot brush, and assorted other hair-taming weaponry on hand. One tool plus interchangeable attachments = considerably less bathroom-counter chaos. Is it cheap? Nope. This is definitely a splurge-level hair tool. But value isn't just about the lowest price, and for me, this replaces or reduces my need for several separate tools while also cutting down the whole dry-then-style production. Considering how often I'll use it, that makes the price considerably easier to justify. Plus... IT'S PINK. 💕😂 Did that need its own paragraph? Yes. Overall, I finally understand the hype. Fast drying, multiple styling options, ridiculously fun auto-wrap curlers, less extreme heat, and it can actually handle the sheer volume of hair living on my head. My hella hair approves. I approve. And apparently I've now become one of those people telling everyone else: “OMG, YOU HAVE TO TRY THE SHARK.” I've become part of the hype. And I regret nothing. 😂 ... show more

Shark FlexStyle: I’m convinced Shark did this better than Dyson
Style: Blush Pink w/ Styling Concentrator
I’ve had the opportunity to use a Dyson Airwrap, so I have a pretty good comparison point, and I honestly prefer the Shark FlexStyle. For me, the biggest advantage is the combination of performance, weight, and price. The Dyson comes with more accessories, but I don’t use all of them. Having a bunch of attachments is only an advantage if you actually use them. The FlexStyle comes with the attachments I’m most likely to use, and I don’t feel like I’m missing anything important. I have a LOT of hair, so drying it is always going to take some time. Even with the relatively smaller opening on the FlexStyle dryer, this thing dries my hair FAST. I was surprised by how quickly it gets through all of my hair. The airflow is strong, and I don’t have to spend forever going over the same sections. The lighter weight also makes a difference. When you have a lot of hair and are holding a dryer up while trying to maneuver it around your head, a heavy tool gets tiring. The Shark is easier for me to handle, which makes the whole process more comfortable. It also feels like a well-made tool. The materials and attachments feel solid, and nothing about it feels flimsy or cheap. Switching between the dryer configuration and the wand configuration is simple, and I like being able to use one tool for drying and styling instead of having separate appliances taking up space. The auto-wrap curlers are one of my favorite features. The airflow pulls the hair around the barrel, so you aren't standing there trying to manually wrap every section perfectly. The oval brush is useful for smoothing and adding volume, and the concentrator gives me more control when I want to direct the airflow. I do have one small complaint. When the FlexStyle is in the wand position, the pivot point doesn't feel completely locked into place. There is a little movement, and I think Shark could improve that part of the design. It hasn't prevented me from using the tool or caused me any real problems, but I'd prefer the wand position to feel completely solid once it's set. Shark also says the FlexStyle monitors and regulates temperature 1,000 times per second to minimize heat exposure. I obviously can't verify that number myself, but temperature control is something I appreciate in a styling tool, especially when I'm using it regularly. I've used the Dyson Airwrap, and if I were choosing between the two for myself, I'd choose the Shark. The Dyson is a good system, but I don't use enough of the additional accessories to make paying more for them worthwhile. The Shark is lighter, dries my very thick head of hair quickly, gives me the styling options I actually use, and costs less. I love this thing. It has made drying and styling my hair easier without making me feel like I need an entire collection of attachments to get the job done. ... show more

Long lasting curls, GREAT blow dryer - slight flex/when using oval brush heads
Style: Blush Pink w/ Styling Concentrator
I'm going to give this 5 stars but there are a few opportunities for improvement but I think it's still such a good product I can't imagine giving less. For reference, I have a few other air styling systems - 1st two generations of Dyson AirWrap (not the latest), Dreame, and a few inexpensive ones whose names I can't recall. Summary: If a powerful blow dryer and long lasting curls are imp't to you, this is the one to get (if you can accept some micro movement when using the oval styling head). OBSERVATIONS: -BLOW DRYER: out of all the ones that I have tried, this is the ONLY one that can compete with my dedicated blow dryer. The Dyson is close but not quite and the Dreame's power far inferior in terms of blow dryer function. In fact w/the Dyson and Dreame, I pull out my regular blow dryer to dry my hair to 80% (I don't get it especially for Dyson because their regular blow dryer is so, so good) -CURLING SYSTEM: This gives me the longest lasting curls. For my hair, fine and thin, I have NEVER gotten the twirly curls to last all day (yes, I use the cold shot button, have tried a variety of hair products) without using a very damaging, all day hold hair spray. This one using my regular mousses/styling creams does give me a great blow out and I have hair with body, bounce, light curls (think Victoria's Secret model w/fans blowing away). It's like a beachy wave but a little less wavy than with a curling iron if you know what I mean. I love the look and as mentioned this one holds my curls the best. The wind/air wrapping power is super strong and the hair wraps itself around effortlessly. -Oval hair brush: I personally prefer a round hair brush but I know many others like the oval. It does a good job of smoothing my hair, works quickly but I can't get a nice round flip at the end as I can with a round brush -Easy to anchor on/take off accessories. This is a stand out feature here. So, so easy - as easy or easier than the Dyson. With the Dreame, I have to pull and tug and place my hands on the hot attachments. Never w/this one. I LOVE this -Great controls - I think the controls are great, placed in a great position (my fingers never accidentally press a different setting) and love how the cold shot button is all by itself towards the top. It doesn't get cold as fast or is truly cold (Dyson's is truly a cold shot) BUT the curls last longer on this one so go figure What's preventing me from loving this product is something that may seem trivial but matters. Because this thing pivots to assume the shape of a traditional blow dryer, when you place it back in the long shape and use the oval brush, each time you take a pass with the oval brush, you'll feel a very slight flex at the pivot joint. No it's not going to fall off or anything but each and every time, it moves just a cm or so and I find that unacceptable for a product like this and I don't know about you but I am making a lot of passes w/that oval brush head when I'm styling my hair. With the conada wrappers you don't feel any pivot because clearly there's no pressure being applied to the main unit - the air is doing all the work. If they could fix that, I think this would be my favorite by far as I really do want a great blow dryer and hair styling system all in one (but I can't accept that little flex). ... show more

Style: Blush Pink w/ Styling Concentrator
So I was excited to get this. I have had a couple of different iterations of this tool, and I keep hoping the new one I get is going to be as good as, or better than, my very first one. Sadly, in that regard, I am fairly disappointed with this one. However, my overall opinion of this tool is that it is very functional and durable. I would personally recommend it, though not for salon use. It says on the box that it is for personal use only. The fact that it flexes is nice. The angle when it is bent is a little weird for blow-drying someone else’s hair, but it is actually more ergonomic for doing your own hair. Each attachment locks in—and actually locks in. It does not use magnets; you have to push a button to release the attachment, which is something I truly appreciate. You can change the speed and heat settings with the touch of a button. It has the air intake at the bottom, as most of these do, and it is fairly easy to clean. I have not used the brush attachment because I am using this in a professional setting. However, the blow-dry attachment works very well. Where it falls flat is the curling attachments, which is half of why people would buy this. I have hair that curls fairly easily and will stay curled if it is heated enough, so of course I tested the curling attachment on myself first. The curl in my hair did not last four hours. I have also tried it on other clients, and they have come back to tell me that the curl did not last with this tool. That was not surprising, because the curls were particularly weak and wimpy. I believe this is due to the fact that the barrel is plastic rather than being made from something that would truly conduct heat. So, if you are getting this as a new blow dryer, it is absolutely well worth it. If you are getting it for the curling attachment alone, hopefully your hair likes to stay curled and does not need as much heat as mine. ... show more

Worth the $$, works well and does the same thing as the pricier alternative. I love it!
Style: Blush Pink w/ Styling Concentrator
I have a $700 AirWrap. I have heard such good things about the Shark I just had to try it. My review is a direct comparison between the two. The Dyson has some things better than Shark, but the Shark has some features that are better, plus the price is much more palatable. APPEARANCE: This is subjective. They Dyson is purple, the Shark is pink. EVEN SCORE WEIGHT: The Shark feels much lighter than the Dyson for longer drying sessions. SHARK WINS ERGONOMICS: The Shark is more flexible to use. You can absolutely use it as a stick dryer, or pivot it to be more like a regular dryer. The Dyson is one option. SHARK WINS CARRYING CASE/STORAGE OPTIONS: Shark doesn't come with a storage bag or a way to travel with it. DYSON WINS ADD ONS: Shark comes with two barrels for curling. Dyson has one that you can change air direction on. DYSON WINS Dyson doesn't come with round brush, Shark's round brush is thick and sturdy and works well. SHARK WINS Dyson has a flyaway smoother that works amazingly, DYSON WINS Attachments are easy to put on and stay on firmly. DRAW/BOTH SYSTEMS DO THIS WELL Paddle Brush Attachment - Shark doesn't come with one, but Dyson's doesn't work well. DRAW OPERATION: Both are easy to operate with a cool shot button, air flow and temp controls. DRAW I don't feel like there is anything that the Dyson does better than the Shark. It does come with more attachments, but I really don't use them. I don't like the double barrel thing with the Shark, but it's workable. Both curl hair the same. The hair dryer is the same in strength and heat, but I prefer the Shark as it is lighter and fits in my hand better. Both are versatile hair tools. I think with the Dyson you are paying a lot more money for the cache and the name. Head to head with the two systems, if I could go back I think I would save myself $500 and get the Shark. It's an investment, and I feel like it will last for years. ... show more

Works well for me
Style: Blush Pink w/ Styling Concentrator
I ordered this to make styling my hair easier. I have long, averagely thick, straight hair. I love the look of a blowout with curled ends, but I always struggle a bit with the traditional round brush in one hand and blow dryer in the other. This tool still feels a little bulky with the long handle, but it definitely was easier and faster to use. Without any attachments, it functions well as a basic blowdryer to rough dry my hair before styling. It has a good amount of drying power, but it is very loud. For the price point, I was expecting it to be a little more refined. The round brush attachment was very effective at smoothing my hair, but I was ending up with more of a sleek straight look and was having trouble putting the little bouncy curl on the ends that I would typically get from a round brush. Maybe that has to do with the larger oval shape of the attachment. The curling attachments worked really well for me and was so much faster than a traditional curling iron. I didn’t use any product to set and immediately brushed out the curls to achieve the bouncy blowout look instead. Overall, it met my expectations - it was effective on my hair and definitely makes it easier to style. The blush pink color is really pretty and I love that the power cord is also pink! I do wish it had a storage bag or case to keep all the attachments together. This tool is pricey but I think it’s a good value it you frequently heat style your hair. I would recommend it. ... show more

Very Versatile!
Style: Blush Pink w/ Styling Concentrator
I've been using the Shark FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System in Blush for a few days now, and it has completely streamlined my hair routine. The design is beautiful, but more importantly, the performance is pretty impressive. It dries my hair quickly while leaving it smooth, shiny, and with less frizz than traditional blow dryers. The versatility is what really sets this product apart. I can easily switch between air drying, smoothing, volumizing, and curling attachments depending on the look I want. The auto-wrap curlers are surprisingly easy to use and create soft, allbeit curls that last for most of the day. I also appreciate that it achieves great results without exposing my hair to excessive heat. My hair definitely feels better and looks shinier, and I've noticed much less damage compared to other styling tools I've used in the past. The pink blush color is gorgeous and gives the tool a premium look, while the lightweight design makes it comfortable to use even during longer styling sessions. I wouldn't say this is the most portable air styling device due to the mid-size but it's easy enough to put in a larger bag if you are going on vacation or a trip. It does seem well made and durable which I expect from Shark who also own the Ninja kitchen products brand. If you're looking for a versatile, high-quality styling tool that can replace multiple devices and save time in your routine, I highly recommend the Shark FlexStyle. It's one of the better hair products I have ordered in recent months. ... show more
