  • Good awning better than original.
Size: 20' (fabric 19'2") Color: Walnut Brown
This awning fabric seams better "heavier"than the original. Also the original one had white underside and would show dirt. The new one is color matched like the top side and should be easier to maintain. The replacement job takes 3 people, just easier that way. Ours is motorized and only has one internal spring on opposite end. Watch youtube videos and fully understand how this thing works before you attempt this job! I tried to hold the spring with vise grips. That didn't work. They slipped off and the spring discharged. I didn't get hurt too bad. Only a bruised wrist and cut knuckle. It could have been real bad. There are pin holes on the end cap and I tried to insert a small allen wrench to hold that spring. I couldn't get it indexed thru the shaft. This is a must and that is where I went wrong. Simply rotate the canopy and find the hole in the shaft. Then tape the allen pin so it can't fall out. Use small ratchet straps to hold any gas struts from pushing out. Once old fabric is removed clean and inspect all channels. Lubricate with silicone spray or dish soap and water. Open up the feed end of channel on camper and file the corners so they can't cut new fabric. Tape over the vertical mounting channels to smooth over those sharp edges because the new fabric can get fouled on them too. You will need 3 step ladders at least 6 footers, 8ft may be better. You will also need 3/16 aluminum pop rivets, rivet tool, 3/16 drill bit and drill, silicone caulking, 7/16 wrench. Watch videos. Remove the end cap with the motor or front end cap. Some videos show going over the cap, drilling out passages etc. Remove end cap to install this awning. ... show more

  • Great Replacement Fabric
Size: 19' (fabric 18'2") Color: Pacific Blue
The awning fabric on our 11 year old travel trailer had taken a beating after being stored for several years at our membership campground, being used infrequently and parked with the entry doors and awning facing the southern sky. Bad news, as over time UV rays and weather will destroy practically everything. I had never replaced awning fabric or hardware, but I know which end of a hammer is the business end, and after attending the University of YouTube, I was confident that I could get this done. After measuring the fabric (correctly), I placed my order and was amazed when the new fabric was on my doorstep two days later. The 19' fabric was 18'2", just as I expected, and was folded two or three times lengthwise, fitting into a box probably four feet long. The fabric itself is at least as thick, if not thicker than the Dometic power awning that had been on the trailer since we purchased it new in 2012. I managed to replace the fabric by myself, at the campground but it took six hours, and as many have mentioned, a second person to help guide the unwieldy fabric into the top channel at the roof would have been very helpful. Many of the complaints here are almost certainly due to user error, but to be fair, a lot of RV components seem to have been designed almost as an afterthought. Why does the roller tube have end caps that are riveted on, without openings for the fabric grooves? It's possible because there is an opening to allow lights or other accessories to be slid into the third channel. It's just a lazy, cheap design that allows for a few end caps to work with every roller tube around. Time will tell how long this fabric lasts, but for the couple hundred dollars I spent, it seems to be well worth it. I may need to make a few more adjustments to get rid of some wrinkles, but I'm happy with the product so far! ... show more

  • Overall a great product
Size: 19' (fabric 18'2") Color: Burgundy Blk WG
Like many others, I had an awning that was several years old and was coming apart near the top edge. They all fail in the same spot because the awning spends most of it's life rolled up so only that first few inches are exposed. The sun degrades the material in those first few inches and voila the awning fails. This awning is very much like my original awning. The material may be a little thinner, but the color and pattern were very similar. As others have mentioned, installation can be a bit of a challenge, but there are some great youtube videos. For the cost, if this one only lasts 5 years then I'll buy another one and do replace it again! I'm a youtube expert now!!! I'm hoping that the weatherguard will prevent the premature damage to those first few inches. ... show more

  • An excellent replacement fabric
Size: 15' (fabric 14'2") Color: Pacific Blue
This is a heavy duty awning fabric. This fabric is much heavier than the original fabric that came with my travel trailer. Install was easy for 2 people, although there is use for a 3rd person. I am very happy, just follow the u-tube install videos and you will be fine.

  • Good awning fabric but...
Size: 18' (fabric 17'2") Color: Pacific Blue
Third awning that I've had on my 2005 TT. This is the first one that I ever had drip the entire length of the sewn seam where it attaches to the trailer. I figure someone dropped the ball during manufacturing. I'll just apply some seam sealer.

  • We love both of them!
Size: 12' (fabric 11'2") Color: Pacific Blue
The first bigger awning was heavy so it took 4 of us to install. But the smaller shade my husband and I put up. They look great and wind tested great too.
