This activity holds my daughter’s (3.5 yrs old) attention for a longgggg time! (And my own because I find filling the molds to be so satisfying). This set in particular is a really good starter set to see if you enjoy it before getting the bigger sets. or a great set to refill one of the bigger sets available. I also love the star shaped bottle this comes with, sense a key of these is that you have to store them in plain water after making them, and the star bottle is way more fun than the bottles most sets come with. A few tips! Wet the molds with the treated water before using them so your creations slide off into the water easily, but don’t leave them soaked with water droplets since that water will cause the gel to separate and start curing before you are ready. I leave these in the treated water for around 4 hours to make them pretty hardy to some squeezing - but leaving them in too long (a day or so) could cause them to start falling apart. After curing for a few hours move them to plain water. This only comes with 2 packs to treat water but the treated water can be kept and reused so it can last for more than 2 “sessions”. I just have a container dedicated to this, and reuse until the water gets a bit icky. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because one of the powders in this set was punctured and got all over the kit. Not too much came out but it did make everything look dingy and I wouldn’t gift it for that. Probably a fluke and an amazing set for the price to give these a try.

My kids had so much fun creating little water pets with this kit! The molds are cute and the gels work as described. It does get a little messy, so I recommend doing it on a tray or table cover. My kids loved mixing the colors and trying different molds. Some shapes didn’t turn out perfectly, but he still had fun experimenting.

This is an excellent craft for kids to do all on their own! Just get kids started then then they can have fun creating their own colors and sea animals. This is a totally kid-safe craft! The bottles of colors are so easy to use and squeeze but they don't drip. There are two packets of magic powder to create animals. I don't know how to get more packets. These have been great for our kids who had fun for over 2 hours of self-initiated creations. The instruction sheet is well organized for easy set-up and use. It tells all the items included in the kit, including a large star-shaped jar. But no instruction of what to do with the jar. Otherwise, good instructions and pictures to follow.
