Always wonder if the thin cheap metal on metal bases will hold up long term, however a few weeks in and we’re happy with this queen base so far. Easy to follow instructions, looks good, functional for under bed storage. Surprised how easy the bed lifts as we have a very heavy purple brand mattress - plenty of storage for blankets, extra winter/summer clothes when off season. A lot more expensive than just a basic base however with the added storage and keeping the chihuahuas from being able to get under the bed - it was well worth the added cost. Plus is cute and has a decent little headboard already.

I will preface by saying that I put together a LOT of furniture for myself and others, so I had experience going in. And I do a TON of it by myself. If any of my experience can help another person put this together, that is excellent. First thing: Find and give the instructions a once over. You’re not reading in detail, but you are getting a feel for each step and knowing which items you’ll need to complete each step. Second thing: Organize and inspect your items before you get started with any product like this— it’s just good practice. Other reviews for this item stated that some of the pieces were missing or unfinished. I found no problems during my organizing and inspecting, but if I had done, I could have saved myself a lot of time and effort. Third thing: If an item is heavy and you have the space or ability, move pieces in a few at a time, do that— this is also a good time to recheck that everything is present and looking good. Fourth thing: You CAN do these things on your own, but if you CAN find help, do. I put this thing together all on my onesie (it took about 3.5 hours, not terrible considering all the pieces). It would certainly have been easier with another person—especially when assembling the lift portion—who could have held it up or worked the tools while I held up the frame, but a chair served my purposes. Fifth, and final, thing: Use your own tools. Yes, these things usually come with “tools” and they do work, and it is nice, but it is easier and friendlier on your wrists to have your own tools to work with. So far, the bed is steady and looks good— I’ve had it for about two weeks now— the lifts work great and I have heard no squeaks. The storage underneath is amazing! If anything about stability or quality changes— I will amend the review. Good luck! I hope you have as little trouble as I did putting it together!

Update 6/21/24 The pumps DO work! Just have to have 2 people pull them down when they're installed. The storage underneath is wonderful and the bed frame is very solid and the head board is very nice looking and comfortable for watching tablet. We sufficed to use some existing bolts and they did the trick safely. The main point is it works so well Andis solid nut 2 people with strength is a must. The common idea is that Amazon companies provide low quality and service. We were recommended Wayfair after family purchased multiple items. Between the two Amazon has Wayfair beat hands down. We rebuilt the other bed SIX TIMES, but this Amazon Queen Bed with storage was extremely easy and was solid as a rock. That said we are giving the low stars because the hydraulic pumps won't move and we need two extra bolts. They came extended and we put them on when we were putting the bed frame together per the easy directions, and once they were on the bed wouldn't go down. We really put a lot of weight on it. Would not go down. So we left them off and finished putting it together. They are stuck extended. It's the most comfortable bed we've ever owned. Solid and sturdy. If it wasn't for the pumps not pumping I'd have given it 5 stars.

Okay so, the bed is beautiful after being put together, good quality for the price I didn't receive anything damaged or missing parts, everything was in good conditions. I put together all my furniture so it was easy for me to build it even without looking at the instructions constantly. Now let's get into the instructions, although I wasn't looking at it much, i can see why some people would find the instructions confusing, some pieces were not labeled so u have to really look at the pictures, which I do I guide myself with the illustrations, which piece looks like the one in the drawing. Assembling the bed was okay, some holes were terribly made either a bit far from each other or not that consistent with the size of the other pieces when put together, but somehow i made it work and was able to tighten the screws properly, idk how but I was able to. Okay now, no joke I took about an hour twisting the (Y) screws on.... omg it was annoying, 15 or more minutes for each one, cause u cant twist it properly unless you put the stick tool in the upper screw against the bed or put something so it doesn't move and then I'm able to twist around the Y screw properly little by little. For me that was the most tedious part. Anyway I put the bed together by myself and it was fairly easy on my own, beside the issues I came across, I enjoyed putting it together. I enjoy putting things together in general so maybe that's why I didnt hate dealing with the imperfections that much. Besides that they could've done a much better job with the manufacturing when doing the holes, labeling etc etc, so that's why I'm giving it 4 stars. Okay functionality wise, I'm able to pull the bed just fine and put it back in place just fine, and the storage space, love it!. Comfort wise, the bed is pretty comfy, the material of the bed is also nice, color is beautiful too. If assembled properly and every screw is tighten up good, you'll have a good bed with no noise, the headboard is so nice and I usually hate them, but I liked it, is tighten up so it doesnt move or make noise. I'm a crazy sleeper so I move a lot and I never heard a noise from my bed. I'm sleeping on a single 6 inch mattress rn and still no noise or discomfort. I still have to get a proper mattress so it'll feel much better. Final thoughts, honestly if you're on a budget or dont want to waste lot of money on a bed, I recommend this. Make it work if u find a problem, fix it assemble it properly and you'll get yourself a good sturdy cheap bed. Another thing I dodnt like much was the shipping cost, crazy, but I needed a nice bed with storage and this was the only one I was able to find that I liked and within my storage. Was thinking of giving it 3 stars for the shipping cost, but nah, the bed is worth it! So only 4 stars. Also is sturdy for taxes too, some noise here and there but that's with every bed ;) Hope this helps!
