What I assumed was that this tower would be better suited for my more normal-sized cat, and my fat cat would not be able to use it. What I found is that my fat cat can still fit into every part of this tower just fine, and my normal-sized cat has zero interest in it. It fits neatly into a corner of my bedroom and has a relatively small footprint. A little taller than my nightstand, but about as big around. Assembly was a little frustrating, but not too bad, and it seems quite sturdy - even under the weight of fat cat. So if your cat is also a little on the rotund side... Doesn't matter.     • Great upholstery work on coverings and great craftmanship on tree.

The person who designed these coverings for this tree really knows how to design beautifully fitted pieces for corners, edges, and for transitioning from one wood piece at an angle to another. Not as easy as this designer makes it look! The coverings are made with beautiful corners and seams, so well thought out that the final results look tailor made. This tree is well worth the price. The structure is sturdy and the weight is well-distributed. Our smaller cat loves it, but it took her a few days to warm up to it. This tree gives her a place of refuge from our larger cat who claimed as her throne the multilevel tree we hand-made, originally for the both of them. I really like this tree because it provides several levels where our smaller cat can escape from our larger cat, and, it provides several places where our smaller cat can claw to mark her territory. We all love this cat condo! It is sturdy, stable, and able to hold our very fluffy boy and miss squish bottom (both young adults at 10lbs). I wasn't sure if she would take to it but she did more than he has. Assembly wasn't hard and instructions were easy. I put it together myself. Well cats decided to "help" too. No weird smells, or debri came with it and the hammock part hasn't bent or anything. It's not toppled over once, and they've played hard with it. Glad I bought it! ... show more

This is not a bad product at all for the price and what it is. Great size top perch. Good size affordable cat towers for full grown adult cats are really hard to find. This has held up well but our cat is getting bigger and we may have to upgrade in the near future.
