I have chronic tendonosis and Haglund's deformity of the heel in my right foot; I had the same condition on my left (pictured) which ruptured in 1921 and required surgery and a long, difficult rehabilitation. Since I now have the same problem with my right foot, I was ready to try ANYTHING to avoid another surgery! You can see the bony growth on the back of my heel in the second photo. You can see my foot inside the boot. My niece who is a Physical Therapy assistant suggested I try this splint. It was super-easy to bend the boot to fit my high instep and fit it to my foot. Since I have been wearing it at night, I no longer wake up in pain, and I can easily walk when I get out of bed; it has been at least a year since I have experienced such a pleasant morning experience with my foot! I just wish I had discovered this product sooner!

You have to bend this thing yourself while guessing the best angle and bend. It is not the easiest to put on. I have restless leg, so I often wake up with this thing slipped off my foot. The thing fails to firmly hold my foot at the proper angle. This may be ok for a smaller foot, but I'm just not satisifed.

There seems to be some confusion with the other reviews. You wear the splint at night to keep your foot at a 90 angle. It isn't meant to protect or cushion your heal as it's not for walking. The splint is comfortable and has definitely helped my plantar fasciitis feel better in the morning. As the directions state, you have to gradually increase the amount of time you wear it at night. The arch supports that come with it are too comfortable for me to wear but I purchased this for the splint not the arch supports. Would recommend if you are suffering from plantar fasciitis.

DID not know the cramps was from plantar fasciitis wearing for 3 days and so tight I feel the pain in center toe and yes it make pain due to stretching the tendon. I have to been able to pop middle toes in yrs. 3rd night had to remove and pop this toe. So ether pain all day or with sleep. So the more the angle up the better stretching the tendon. very happy to found this item. Wish had when start cramping in the leg long thing ago.

i think it is helping but after a couple full nights of wearing the splint this metal bar comes out of the top and keeps getting snagged on blankets. any fix i make only lasts until i put it back on, then it slides out again.

Within only a few times using the boot for a few hours in the evening while watching tv, pain was gone from my foot. I liked the arch pads included, wearing them during the day while at home and walking on tile floors. My husband had me order a boot for him as well! And he lives the arch pads too for his flat feet.

Pain and swelling reduction after one night of wear. This is simple to use, well-sewn, comfortable without bulk, adjustable, and lightweight. It's probably washable, too. The bonus arch splints are great for padding around the house in slip-ons.
