This is a small machine, constructed from mostly plastic components. It is, however, a perfect machine for traveling or for teaching young people to sew. It is lightweight and the extension plate is detachable, making it very easy to carry. The foot pedal is likewise small and lightweight. The extension plate also has a measuring guide, with increments given in inches and centimeters. The machine comes fully set up, with 18 completely-wound bobbins and matching spools of thread. It also comes threaded and a bobbin installed with white thread, so that a beginner can just sit down and start sewing. The machine is operated by either the foot pedal, or by pushing the ON button, no foot pedal needed. Moving past that point, the instruction book is clearly and simply written to explain how to operate the machine. The dials are clearly marked for stitches and the machine sews perfectly. ... show more
