First of all, this machine is tiny. If you have a regular, standard-sized sewing machine, or if you've seen one, know that this one is quite a bit smaller. I consider it portable due to the size and weight, and not a full-sized machine, but it does its job well. As a crafter, sometimes I like to sew. A machine like this definitely has a place in my office/studio--and I was willing to replace my full-sized sewing machine with this one on my craft table. Out of the box, it is easy enough to setup for use; if you're familiar with how sewing machines work it should be easy for you to get it up and running, but you still might want to read the instructions since all machines are slightly different and have their own little quirks. It's powerful enough for everyday sewing and mending, and the fact that it is smaller doesn't mean it's underpowered in any way. You can choose multiple stitches and multiple speeds, and the fact that it is a space saver counts for a lot. There is no case for the machine--some other full-sized sewing machines come with them, so that's something you might want to think about. There is no carrying handle, either, even though this is small enough to be portable, but you can always buy a tote for it in case you need to take it to a meetup, a class, or even a different place in the home. All in all, I would recommend this, and I definitely think it's worth it.

I love sewing and sewing machines, and this one has got a lot of (to my mind) really unusual features. The top of the machine is flat, with a decorative black gloss surface. It has a lot of stitch options, a top loading bobbin holder, and led lighting above the needle. It has a lever for reverse stitching, and an additional platform to add workspace. It comes with a set of inexpensive threads and sewing tools, including prewound bobbins and replacement needles. It does include a corded foot pedal which is not connected to the power plug and that's a new one for me. The machine is lightweight, and has an outer shell of plastic, and the black and white color scheme is nice. I did have to keep a star because of a couple of the features that challenge the pricepoint. This machine does not have a handle for carrying, or a case for storage, or a bag or case for the sewing tools. A lot of the functional components, like the foot lift, the cord lengths, and the lack of a free arm detachment do take some getting used to, but then I am most accustomed to a very old and very simple machine. I do think this is quite a nice machine to have for light work, but a little expensive.

Within the first five minutes of sewing the thread got tangled up inside the machine. I purchased it because of the light weight. I returned it because it jammed and was extremely noisy.

I love how this sewing machine has the extension table. Very useful. I have a bunch of sewing machines now and this addition make this one, one of the favorites. It's not heavy and pretty easy to set up and use.
