The sewing machine is a compact and lightweight version of a basic standard sewing machine. When I took it out of the box, I chuckled to myself because it doesn't feel like a traditional sewing machine at all. My first thought was that this would be perfect for teaching middle school students how to use a sewing machine and learn some basic skills. It would also be ideal for anyone who isn’t interested in large-scale projects and simply wants to hem a pair of pants or do other very basic sewing tasks. Furthermore, it's a great option for small or limited spaces. Having prior knowledge of how to thread a sewing machine, I found this one to be similar, with helpful visual step-by-step instructions to thread it to the needle. In the lower right-hand corner of the machine, there is a QR code that links to six YouTube videos demonstrating some basic steps. However, I noticed that the power cable is quite thin, kinked a bit, and a bit too short, which would likely require a power strip for convenience. Additionally, it has the option to be powered by a USB or your own power supply adapter. I tried using a fully charged battery pack, but the LED light lasted less than five minutes. So, unless you're in a situation where you need to hem something without electricity, this option doesn't seem very practical. The machine features a built-in LED light that automatically turns on when plugged in. One thing that surprised me was that the power switch at the base, when engaged, allowed the sewing process to run without using the presser foot, which was a bit unusual. However, after watching the video, I understood that this feature was used for winding a bobbin. I think this hand control option would be beneficial for someone who may have difficulty using their feet. I didn't encounter any issues with the tension; the pre-threaded bobbin and spool of thread seemed to be perfectly adjusted and ready to go right from the start. Overall, it’s not too shabby for its intended purpose.

This machine is serviceable if you need to maybe hem some pants, but it is definitely not meant for serious sewing. 1. it's easy to set up, has a drop-in bobbin, comes with a bunch of thread and threaded bobbins, has a nice bright light and settings that allow it to sew without having to use the pedal. It's lightweight and the accessories are easy to carry. 2. No matter how much I adjusted the tension, I could not get a good stitch. Either the stitches were loose or the bobbin thread showed through the top stitch. It is extremely loud--louder than my full-size Janome. The pedal is unsatisfying--it's almost too light. I wouldn't want to do a major sewing job with this, but maybe for a beginner or someone who just has to make occasional clothing repairs it would work.

This is a cute little low end swing machine for quick jobs or travel. It comes out of the box pretty much ready to go, and is simple to follow the instructions to get it going. This would be great for teaching kids how to sew, or to be able to work small jobs without having to change up the settings on my bigger machine. The machine itself is very light weight and portable.

Well, I'm conflicted on this little sewing machine. The timing hook is not aligned correctly. So what I get is great big gaps--if anything manages to catch--while the straight stitch is selected (and the bobbin thread just not catching at all most of the time), and then an *almost* perfect straight stitch while the zigzag pattern is selected, with an occasional little half-zig or half-zag. Using the white thread that was included in the kit, I've rethreaded the upper thread multiple times; I've changed the needle; and using a pre-wound black bobbin included in the kit I've rethreaded the bobbin multiple times. Using different colored threads lets me easily see which threads are doing what. (I've sewn on over a half dozen different sewing machines over my 50+ years. I've been sewing on a sewing machine for almost as long as I can recall. I'm not comfortable calling myself an "expert," but I definitely know my way around sewing machines.) ON THE OTHER HAND: Should the timing issue get fixed (I'm debating adjusting it myself or taking it to a repair shop), I think this little machine would be great to have on hand. One thing I found interesting is that the speed control switch on the front of the machine engages the machine immediately without the foot pedal needing to be touched; and there are two speeds: fast and faster, lol. The kit includes everything you need to start sewing immediately. In fact, the only other things I needed to get started was a piece of fabric and a better pair of scissors (the little tiny pair included in the kit will cut thread, but they're pretty stiff and don't cut at the very tip--but will work if you don't have any other scissors at hand). There are plenty of replacement needles for the machine included, lots of full bobbins, spools of thread, and two additional empty bobbins. The seam ripper will pluck stitches, but won't cut them; it's dull on the inside curve. There's also a cloth tape measure and a plastic thimble. Oh, and it came with two needle threaders, as well. And two snaps and a small spare black button and white button, though those are obviously done by hand (hence the thimble, though...no hand sewing needle, lol, so...). The length of the foot pedal cord has a decent enough length, but not much to spare. The power cord length is probably the bare minimum. I'm a little puzzled over the inclusion of the USB cable. I suppose it's nice to have options. The foot pedal is nice and sensitive. Love that. The light is indeed bright. I don't see a power switch or a light switch. Everything is either on when the power is connected or it's off. The included directions and diagrams in the manual are actually pretty well written and drawn. You'll get help with threading, adjusting the tension and some troubleshooting tips. I'm giving this machine and included kit three stars just because of the timing issue. Had everything worked correctly right out of the box, I'd be giving this a five star review for a sewing machine for a beginning seamstress.

Cutest little REAL sewing machine for my needs. I used to be an excellent seamstress and got busy with life and gave my sewing machine away. Now I want to get back into sewing and like this little machine to start with. It is very simple and does have drop in Bobbins. I will be using this for hemming clothes, sewing curtains and lots of crafts! It takes up very little space so if you have downsized or live in an apt it is so easy to find room for.
