This being a beginner sewing machine, it came with plenty thread, and instructions that described what each part of the machine is for and how to set it up. I do think being marketed for beginners it could stand to come with some instructions on how to go about the actual sewing. I did watch some YouTube videos that helped get me up to speed, and it really worked well for me. I do think it's a good starter product and great size to move around the house for small projects.
