  • Great adjustable table that you can use anywhere in your home!
Color: Granite Size: 48" W x 24" D x 28.5" to 42" H Desktop
This is a great table! It arrived yesterday and I was able to assemble it easily. I actually enjoyed putting it together because all the parts were so well-made and of high quality. Even the bolts felt nice! This table was packaged extremely well so that it arrived from a cross-country trip completely undamaged, even though the box showed signs of rough handling. Upon opening the outer box, I was happy to see that every piece was individually bagged, and protected by Styrofoam (which also helped to maintain the box's rigidity). I took each piece out to carry downstairs to our laundry room. When I had removed all the metal pieces, I saw that the hardwood top was packaged in its own box! This was very thoughtful, and helped to ensure that the top would not be damaged during shipping. The instructions were clear (you can also find a PDF of them on the manufacturer's web site) and showed pictures of the whole process. The hardware was in its own bag, and they also included a spare bolt and washer. Even though there is a tool included to tighten the bolts, I used my own 1/2 socket wrench to make things easier. I took my time and admired the quality of the parts and assembly method. It was very easy to build upside-down, and then I had help from a family member to pick it up and turn over. Of particular importance for me was the solid hardwood top, and I was not disappointed! It is about 1.5" thick and beautiful. Because of the nice packaging, there was not a scratch or blemish on it and looks very upscale. It is also very heavy. Most of the product's weight is found in the top, and I also had help carrying just that one piece down the steps to the basement. The bottom of the piece has metal-reinforced places where the leg bolts attach, which made it easy to put the bolts in by hand most of the way. By the way, don't tighten the bolts completely until you get all the leg pieces attached, so that you can make sure everything lines up. The legs and support piece are made out of a lighter-weight metal than I was expecting, but they seem to be sturdy. They are painted with a gray, textured material and have a pleasant feel. There are four adjusting screws with large handles that go through each leg from front to back and screw into a nut welded onto the back of each leg. It is definitely easier to adjust them when the table is turned upside down, so try to find your preferred height before turning it over. At the bottom of each leg, you screw in a leveling foot. I was amazed at the large size of the bolts on them! Most of them went in easily using the provided tool, but I had to work a little harder on one that had to go through a nut with too much paint on it. I'm very pleased with my purchase of this table, and highly recommend it to anyone that wants a high-quality, well-made adjustable table for use anywhere in your home. Pros ==== + High-quality parts + Easy assembly + Clear directions + Great packaging! + Wonderful hardwood top + Large adjustment range for height Cons ==== - It's not quite as rigid as heavier alternatives, but I appreciate the easier handling from the lighter weight. - The included tool works, but doesn't make it easy to tighten the bolts; use your own socket for that. ... show more

  • Workbench for cutting fabric
Color: Granite Size: 48" W x 24" D x 28.5" to 42" H Desktop
I recently purchased the 48" Seville Classics Desk/Table to use as a fabric cutting station. My husband and I put it together two days ago. The table was well packaged and we were very pleased with the quality of the parts. All parts were listed and present in the package. There was even an extra bolt and washer included and specifically packaged. A specialized angled wrench for tightening the bolts was also included. Although we were able to use our own socket set and wrenches for the majority of the build, the angled wrench was helpful when adjusting the leveling feet due to the limited space available. The directions were quite clear, but the diagrams are small and difficult to determine details. A 'blow-up' image of each detail would be helpful. The finished table is very solid and sturdy. The adjustable height (up to 42") and stability are exactly what I need for my cutting station. Although the height adjustment is solid and easy to change when the table is lying on the floor - table top down - it would be difficult to adjust in the upright position and may require two people to safely make the change. This is mostly because the table top is quite heavy and adjusting four legs is challenging. There was one frustration when assembling the table: There was one small weld on the interior of one of the legs that was irregular and stuck out. Because of this irregularity, the leg wouldn't slide over the appropriate part. My husband had to file off the 'bump' which took some time and took off the coating in that area. Other than this, the assembly went well and all the bolts fit smoothly into their appropriate holes. I would have rated the assembly as a 5 star if not for the weld issue and the small diagrams on the directions. I am very happy with the final product. The height is perfect for me at 39-40" and the table is very solid and stable even at this height. It also has a 'clean' look which works well in my sewing room. ... show more

  • Fantastic work bench for my projects
Color: Granite Size: 48" W x 24" D x 28.5" to 42" H Desktop
Love this table: (Seville Classics UltraHD Height Adjustable 4-Foot Heavy-Duty Wood Top Workbench Table, 48", Granite Gray) Assembly was easy with none of the parts being too unwieldy and no situations requiring more than one person unless you have concerns about being able to flip the table right-side-up after assembly. The top has a nice finish but will likely need to be coated with something durable to properly protect it as a work surface. Mine is in my study and used for computer work and electronics tinkering so it doesn't have to suffer much. The height adjustment is nice and doesn't appear to affect stability. It's the sort of adjustment meant to be set before using the table. I don't believe it's designed to be adjusted with any sort of load and is annoying to do alone when the table is upright. A welcome feature, especially at this price point. Casters would have been nice but probably would have increased the cost. Seville sells casters or you can buy any with the thread the feet use. I think they should have included locking nuts on the feet so they could be secured in place after adjusting. I'll eventually pick some up if for no other reason than to confirm my identification of the thread. If I were in the market for another table, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another of these. Information on the thread type for the feet/casters: Mine appear to be a very loose metric bolt thread: M14x2 -take this with a grain of salt unless you see an update at the bottom. My metric thread pitch gauge matched up on 2 just a tad better than it matched the factional 13 (closest fractional), my major thread diameter is 13.57mm, and minor diameter 11.36mm, which is outside spec of the M14x2 but closer to that than anything else. The M12 nuts I have were visibly too small and I don't have any 9/16" NC to try, 1/2-13 was too small. I'll update when I get around to picking up some nuts to use for the feet. Thus far, it's holding pretty steady without anything to lock them in place. ... show more
