I use the pad to heat up my side right before bedtime. It really heats up fast. I leave it on ten minutes before getting into bed and it's perfect to take the chill off the sheets. Some people mentioned the short power cords. We agree and reversed the cords so the power is at the top of the bed where our outlets are. Problem solved. We are very happy with this warming mattress pad. It does the trick to keep my husband warm. It can get very hot on higher settings than "1". We always use it on the lowest heat setting. This is my second heated mattress pad. Our first one finally got worn out, so we bought this one to replace it. Overall it works very well, but I have two issues with it: 1) The heating elements don’t go all the way to the bottom edge, so if I stick my feet all the way down, they hit a cold spot. 2) The light on the control doesn’t stay on while the pad is on. It’s basically impossible to read the display without the background light, so I can’t just tell at a glance if it’s on or off like I could with my previous mattress pad. ... show more

I have purchased others they give U an electric cord w/ only one plug, What happens w/ that is one cord is always to short, hard to position them w/ one long cord & one short cord, makes no sense. I always keep a heated blanket on my bed in the winter. It had not been heating very well and decided to replace it with this. I liked the idea of it because we sleep with our pets in our bed, so water proof was a must. This is definitely water proof, but it heats the bed so much better than my blanket did. It gets warm fast and I love that it has two thermostats for my husband and I. We like different temperatures when sleeping. The timer on them is great in case I fall asleep with it on.     • Warm & cozy, but a major design flaw

There's so much to love about this heated mattress pad: Comfort, warmth, controls are easy to work and has several heat levels to select. (Although on my last one, the cloth underneath literally fell apart when I took it off the bed. Luckily it was within the 12 month warranty period, but still a hassle.) Anyway, the major design flaw is that the cord plugs in at the bottom of the mattress pad by your feet. And you want the controls up by your head, right? Presumably on a nightstand or headboard. The cord is a little bit too short to do that without having to monkey around with the cord and stretch it farther than it probably should be for safety. I even tried to flip the pad around to have the plug up toward the head of the mattress instead, but the cord connection is too big & lumpy to have right there by your head. So it's a bit wonky but there's no way around it. I wrestled with different configurations for nearly an hour. I just had to do the best I could. The cord between the mattress pad plug & the control should be another 6-8 inches longer, at least. Ugh. (SERTA: PLEASE PUT SOME MORE THOUGHT INTO THIS DESIGN FOR A MORE PLEASANT USER EXPERIENCE!). ... show more
