This is the 3", blue topper. The shipping box was open. There was no packing inside. Just the bag that the topper was rolled into. It was covered in saran and easily unwrapped. It popped right open quite quickly, no smell yet. It was up to it's 3" in an hour or so. Will allow it 24 hours before I put it on bed. However, just quickly lying on it, it definitely is not as dense and my previous twin serta memory foam gel topper that I got at Kohl's. This seems like it may not be supportive, and too soft but will update after sleeping on it. I always cover with a mattress cover. It was $86. Update - after sleeping on it for 2 hours I had a bad backache I. Upper back. Hubby tried it and said, you can’t keep this thing. So returning. ... show more

We replaced our old Mayes with a new one a month prior to ordering this. It's an extra firm mattress but unlike our old one, had no pillow top. Firmness was good but it had NO cushion. After having surgery on my back, both knees and shoulders years ago, the mattress was torture. This item made all the difference in the world! I can get comfortable, no pressure points ache. It may sleep a bit warmer than your mattress, but is not excessively hot. It's been a month since purchase and no problems. Unrolled and allowed to expand for 24 hours. Then placed on the bed and covered with thin mattress cover and sheets. There was slight discoloration at one edge where the foam pad had been against the zippered pouch it was packed in and a slight material/manufacturing odor that quickly dissipated. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a more plush surface on a firm mattress. ... show more

Since I got this I have slept great. No more aches and pains! I have been using this topper for a few months now and it is still holding shape, it is easy to handle when installing and adjusting. I would def recommend if you are like me and just bought a mattress that just wasn't quite right.

We have a latex mattress, and over the years its comfort is not what it used to be. Mattress itself most likely did not change, but with age and such, we needed more comfort on the top layer. Was going to try various things, but luckily this topper was the first thing we tried. No need to explore other options for us, this is the comfort we were looking for. This topper relieved the pain in my back, hips & shoulders that I usually wake up with. My husband is not as big of a fan-he said he sinks in too much & it’s a struggle to roll over. Unfortunately, it’s too high with our pillow top mattress-my favorite sheets don’t fit. I’ll be gifting it to someone with a different type mattress.
