This is a good mattress pad. It fits well, has deep reach with the attached sides, good elastic, and a reasonable fill. It's not super thick, all pictures of these sorts of products exaggerate the fill, like the picture of a burger at McD's. But it's pretty good. Maybe an inch of rise to it in it's daily-use state. It is ACTUALLY hypoallergenic. Unlike numerous things which claim to be on amazon (trust me, i'd know). Mine is on top of a 2" natural latex pad (on a very firm, but very durable, mattress). The latex does 'far' more for cushioning an overly firm mattress. This just adds a breathable & soft top layer. I'm very happy with the combo. If you wanted this to soften a bed, I don't think it would be sufficient, it's too soft for that. Anywhere there's real weight, it compresses completely and basically "bottoms out". It more just cradles up around where you lay to cradle you a bit in a way which doesn't feel supportive, but does feel 'cozy'. That's really what this is for. And it does that well. If you want padding, get latex (beats memory foam any day of the week and twice on tuesdays). If you want a cozy top, this is great. If you want both, they're great together. ... show more

I have a quite hard Ikea mattress and had a really hard time sleeping. I would wake up many times with aches and pains, toss and turn ... it got to the point where I would dread going to bed. The mattress is brand-new in a furnished rental, so there's no way I'll replace it. I had tried memory foam toppers and other pillow top toppers, but none worked. It's an OK mattress topper but it's not what I thought it would be. I bought this for my daughter and I thought it would add much more comfort to her mattress. I was wrong. The quality isn't the best and it just isn't what I expected in terms of comfort. I rarely write reviews because I'm lazy, but I had to do this one to let you know this product is worth it if you are looking for a little softer top that doesn't feel and look like a marshmallow pad. - Bottom line: Do not recommend. It was a waste of money, energy, and, time. I’m frustrated just writing about it. This mattress pad was comfortable, if a bit hot, for four months. Then a dent appeared and foam split in two. It was not salvageable and even disposing of the sections was a pain. -Pros: initially cushiony, decreased joint pain for 3 months -Cons: price, causes hotter sleeping conditions; slid off of mattress and needed daily adjustment, strong chemical scent when new took a week to dissipate, not washable, split in two and was unusable after three months, waste of money and space, negative environmental impact and waste ... show more
