I've used those round stackable plastic dehydrators for the last couple of decades; they do the job. However, I was blown away that it took 6 hours to make Beef Jerky in this dehydrator, when the old plastix towers took a minimum of 12 hours. Apple slices and bananas took 6 hours as well. Fruit leather was done in 4. What a game changer! Let me break down this machine: Build: the whole interior is stainless steel, even the shelves. Easy to wash, and no plastic touching your food. It is about the size of an early 2000s microwave, and could easily be stored away in a cabinet. That does not mean this is small, because it has 6 trays roughly 12" square. The machine is very retro looking. Features: This is a set-and-forget machine. There are buttons with a digital display that take the guesswork out of dehydrating your treats. It automatically turns off after it reaches the time you have set, too! That means delicious, healthy snacks produced while you are at work, without having to worry about them. I would like to point out that I purchased this when there was a deal going on for an extra free tray (that's why you'll see 7 trays.) All in all, this machine is amazing. We have made loads of snacks that the kids have enjoyed, and I love knowing it wasn't full of chemicals or junk. You will also find some oven mitts, a recipe book, non-stick mats, and two storage containers in your box. Word to the wise: do not put thin fruit leather puree on those mats! It definitely stuck. Grab a silicone baking sheet or some parchment. This would be great for a dorm, apartment, or small house because of the size. I got it for our homestead. I'd jump on this item while it's still available! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Full disclosure, I am not using this for food. I am using this for 3D Printing filament drying and annealing. I must say, so far it's been extraordinary, works incredibly well - especially for the price. It's the perfect size for a 1kg spool, weeks incredibly easily, it soars past temperatures of other specially-designed dryers (BIG + there) and has a superior timer, the ONLY nit puck I have is it is set by hour. For my use it's not a huge thing, but if you're using it for less than hours' time wise you may have to set a secondary timer. Due to my use-case I don't have to clean it, but it's all metal inside and comes with extra inserts so it should be a breeze to clean. It's a considerably light device which is awesome, and takes up very little room all things considered. I haven't successfully annealed anything yet, but I will be tonight, so if I remember I will report back then.

I have used this dehydrator for several weeks and successfully dried many types of herbs in this period. The unit looks good, has a small footprint, the front hinged door opens easily and all the way for loading, and the noise is not excessive (though I appreciate this depends on opinion and where it is located). We leave ours running in the utility room so the noise is not an issue. The really good thing about this unit is that it uses a fan to circulate hot air from back to front, across the herbs you have placed on the removable shelves, so all the product is evenly dried, no matter which shelf it sits on. The touch menu on top of the unit is easy to use and remembers previous settings so it is a one-touch to start another batch. We find that 7 hours at 165F dries all our garden herbs, including more 'fleshy' hibiscus, and retains the flavor very well.

Nice dehydrator, well built, and comes with a large number of accessories. The only issue I've run into is the fruit leather trays. The unit came with two, YAY! But, I haven't found a way to buy two more so that I have one for each shelf. I contacted Septree, but the response obviously did not come from an english speaker and was not comprehensible. I'll try again, but it makes me wonder what will happen if there is a problem with the dehydrator and I need customer support. Update: Per Septree the silicone fruit leather tray inserts are no longer being made! So, beware, do not purchase this dehydrator if you have any intention of making fruit leather, crackers or similar items that require a tray with a lip. Had I known this I would have bought the larger 6 tray unit which has more commonly sized shelves.

For Turkey Jerky I slice 1/8" and use 180F initially and then drop it after the first hour, turning of the Turkey meat, to speed up the dehydration process to 3.5 hours. This worked perfectly. I was concerned that at 190F it only heated up to 170, to 175 per my oven thermometer, but in Centigrade at 90C, it heats up more. Good circulation, easy to swap tray positions and turn them because the trays are squares. I finish the Jerky in my air fryer tray in my Cuisinart Toaster Oven with dehydration and it finished the Jerky with a nice color and sheen (the Cuisinart has 1800 watts compared to 500 watts), and this combination was perfect. As I removed meats from the trays, I could place the tray on a rack in my Cuisinart if still in need of dehydration, and then I could layer the almost complete strips in the air fryer basket, sorting and removing for storage, with those that needed more cooking spread out in the back of the Cuisinart basket, as I cleaned each used tray of the Septree. The capacity of this little unit is perfect and far 2x to 3x larger than the Cuisinart that is small. It works well for my Jenny-O or Butterball brand Turkey breasts. The price is very fair and reasonable.

Love this compact dehydrator perfect for 2 people. Quiet motor. I have only dried fruit and did it on the highest temperature 190 and 12 hours. It was great just prepping in the evening and running it all night. Timer turns off automatically. The first time I used it I did the acid dip which left the fruit very wet. It took much longer to dry and stuck to the trays second time no acid dip just put the bananas in after dividing them and after 12 hours they came out great. Includes instruction manual not very thorough. A recipe book that has more meat recipes than anything else which is not what I will be using it for, so that was a little disappointing but overall, I think a great dehydrator. I’ll find my own recipes. The accessories it comes with are great I just wish it had 6 Silicone sheets instead of just 2. These worked great the food doesn’t stick at all ! I will be buying more silicone sheets to cover all 6 trays soon.

I chose this because I'm in a 620-sq foot apartment. The kitchen space is really limited, so I store this in a closet and take it out when I need it. I can't speak to its long-term durability, but I dried strawberries, and I was surprised by just how quiet this machine is. I used their recipe manual for sliced strawberries, and the time was way too long, causing the strawberries to stick to the shelves, but that's ok. That's on me because you really need to monitor the process. There's a light on top that you can use to check how things are doing. This is really easy. The shelves are easy to clean. It comes with a couple of fine-mesh sheets that can be used to make fruit leather. You also get some silicone mitts for fingertips, though for things like the strawberries, the shelves weren't even very hot. If you're limited on space, this is one to get!

It's not a bad dehydrator as it gets the dehydrating job done. However, due to It's size, you can't find third party accessories such as dehydrator silicon trays, the ones for making fruit roll ups and they allow you to reduce messes inside the machine. Another reason also is that, the dehydrator silicon perforated sheets that come with the machine are thin and soft thus after some real rough use and staining it will start slowly breaking off. If not careful it can contaminate food being prepared in the machine
