  • Great AC For My Bedroom! Make Sure You Understand What You’re Doing
Color: White Size: 12000 BTU 110/120V
I bought this to air condition my bedroom at night since I like to sleep cold, but don’t want to have to cool down my entire home to get my bedroom to the temperature I want. For the price, this thing is unbeatable. It cools extremely quickly, is very quiet while running (both inside and out), and it only burns about 0.5 kWh of electricity per hour, if that. Now let’s talk installation, because a lot of people are looking for a DIY solution if you’re looking at this thing. This both is and is not DIY. Unless you have a licensed HVAC tech sign off on the installation, the company claims no warranty. To some people that matters, to some it doesn’t. But it’s something to keep in mind. Beyond that, if you’re planning to do this yourself, just know there are some specialized tools you’re going to need. I’ll break everything down below. Technical Knowledge Required: Intermediate Tools Required: Advanced Beyond your standard drill, screw drivers, pliers, etc, you will need the following: -Hammer Drill With Core Bit (if drilling through masonry) -Intermediate understanding of electrical (this thing should have its own circuit to avoid breaker trips/overheating wires) -Vacuum Pump (for clearing the lines prior to charging the system) -Vacuum Gauge System (for monitoring vacuum pressure) Those last 2 are CRUCIAL. That’s the step where most people mess up. You MUST vacuum out the lines and verify they maintain a vacuum prior to charging the system. Otherwise, you will lose all your refrigerant. Some people also clear the lines with an inert gas, but getting full vacuum and verifying it’s maintained even with the pump off was more than enough for me. If you’re looking for a true DIY system that comes with a warranty when installed on your own, there ARE systems out there, but this isn’t one of them. But if you’re looking for a cheap, high performance system and either don’t care about warranty or already have an HVAC tech that’s going to install this, go for it, you can’t beat it for the price. ... show more

  • Great mini split.
Color: White Size: 12000 BTU 110/120V
Great mini split. Super quiet and has easy to use controls. I’ve bought two of this type and another from this company. One is in my garage and I put the other in my aunts house. I use mine paired up with an external thermostat set to manage humidity, it turns on in dry mode when humidity hits 53% and turns off when it drops to 50%, I really don’t care about temp. In winter I leave it in freeze protection mode. My aunts is her only AC unit. Hers is a little small for her installation but this was the only size that could fit in the location. It’s running hard on an hot day but it keeps up! I was worried hers wouldn’t keep up with outdoor temps in the high 90’s but it performed great. She initially set it at 70 but had to turn it up to 74 because she was getting cold when it was 97 outside. Installation takes about a day if you’re working by yourself. I’m licensed and did HVAC in the past so this was straightforward but it’s easy to get great results with minimal investment like a vacuum pump, nitrogen and a micron gauge with a little know how. Take your time and get measurements ahead of time and plan out your install and it’ll go well. Wait around for a sale if you have time and you’ll save a couple hundred. ... show more

  • Easy to install
Color: White Size: 12000 BTU 110/120V
Unit went in well and after the hvac tech ran the vacuum and connected the outside it started working perfectly. The only disappointment is that it doesn’t pull out as much humidity as I would have hoped.

  • Horrible unit. Have replaced with a Pioneer.
Color: White Size: 12000 BTU 110/120V
6/10/2026 Final review. Well that didn't even take a month! Senville froze up and leaked all over my wall and onto my wood furniture. That was the final straw. Ordered another Pioneer. The Senville is going in the trash. 5/19/2026 Bought a Pioneer 1200 to replace the Senville and couldn't be happier. Works like a champ. I moved the Senville to my bedroom where I only need it at night. Figured it could handle that. But NO! Froze up in the middle of the night. (Set at 69 with outside temp only 72) The airflow is just lousy on these. Senville claims low coolant is a problem but mine is running at optimum pressures. Its just a crappy design. The Pioneer was only $100 more and worth every penny. 4/14/2026 Update. Was able to make it functional by controlling manually but the unit has decided to start frosting up again. Outside temp is only 85 and set unit to 76 with low humidity. Completely froze up! Throwing in the towel and tossing it out and ordering a Pioneer to replace it. 6/22/24 update. I have to control the fan speed and temperature manually. If I forget to turn the fan on high it freezes up and starts spitting ice or frosts over and no air comes out. In addition forget about putting the fan on "Auto". Fan speed is pathetic and will guarantee it freezes up. Recently installed a Pioneer mini-split for a friend for the same amount and it works flawlessly. 11/28/23 Update. After fighting with this to cool properly during the summer now when I want it to heat it stops working when it gets below 40 degrees. Wish I had never bought this piece of junk. House is at 69 with Senville set at 74 - nothing! I plan on replacing it with a Pioneer as soon as I can. Bought the 12000btu/110v unit. Thermostat does not work well. Always seems to be over cooling. Had the inside unit freeze up the other day because it won't stop cooling. Gave up on getting the Auto feature to work. I use the "follow me" function which says to use the temperature at the remote instead of the air handler. Blows past the temperature settings in Auto so I have to manually switch between Heat and Cool. Update 6/23 I have decided to update my review after using the 12,000 btu unit for over a month. I was told the indoor unit was freezing over because the unit was low on refrigerant. I checked and it was at the minimum (so not technically low) but had 410a added to bring it up to the suggested level. First 90 degree day it froze up again while set at 74 degrees. Pretty useless if you ask me. If you are looking for a better unit look at Pioneer. Update 9/23 Finally figured out the problem but still can't recommend. Turns out the fan set on "Auto" will not run fast enough when it is very hot out and causes the inside unit to freeze over. I have found that by setting the fan speed manually this doesn't happen. When set on high the fan is noticibly faster. However, this is pretty annoying as I cant just set the fan speed to Auto and leave it alone. ... show more

  • Great Value and Performance. I've installed one of these for my best friend and one for my mother
Color: White Size: 12000 BTU 110/120V
For the money you cannot beat these Senville units. I installed one of these for my best friend about a year ago and one for my mother last week. As with most HVAC quality of installation is KEY to longevity and performance. In Turbo cooling mode I measured one of the units putting out 13,800k BTU vs. the rated 12,000k BTU which is great. My friend mentions regularly how this 12k Senville destroys the 14.5k portable hose exhaust unit he had before it. The Senville is also about 4 times quieter than the portable. The quality and price that Senville is offering is impressive to me. If I did not already have a decent 36k BTU 16 SEER central heat pump on my personal home I would probably give the Senville 36K BTU (SENDC-36HF-16) a shot even though I cannot find any reviews on it. Again, the quality on these for the money has really impressed me. I like the idea of the Senville units over the Mr. Cool as the Senville is tried and time tested vs. the precharged quick connect Mr. Cool line sets that in my mind introduce a few really unknown variables. I am not an HVAC technician but I am a mechanical engineer who has geeked out on HVAC, got my EPA 608 license, and purchased some HVAC tools. Tips: 1) Pressure test the unit with nitrogen before pulling a vacuum. I know it is tempting to skip this step and not deal with purchasing or renting a nitrogen tank with regulator but if you really want to ensure you will not have leaks in the future it is the way to go. The dry nitrogen also helps remove moisture introduced to the hermetic system during installation prior to pulling a vacuum. I tested with 300psi for 30 minutes and found a tiny leak on one of the flare fittings that I corrected by giving it a little extra torque. I also use Nylog Blue on the male tips of the flares. 2) I use a micron gage when pulling a vacuum I know they are expensive (~$200) but its worth it to know you are getting all the moisture out of the lines as that is what leads to decreased output and premature failure on so many of these. I pulled down to 213 microns and did a 30 minute decay test. It only rose to 219 microns which is very good. 3) It probably does not matter but I like to release the refrigerant slowly to avoid any pressure spikes. I also like to back out the valves all the way and then turn them back in about 1/16th of a turn so it is open but not sitting on the hard stop. 4) Do not vertically coil the line set behind the unit. This can produce and oil trap that can degrade the performance and lifespan of the unit. If you need to coil the line set do so horizontally. On the one I installed in my mothers house I cut the line set to 7.5 feet. Recommended minimum is 10 feet so I recovered 0.7oz of the factory refrigerant charge. Senville Tech Support Chat wasn't the most helpful on this but I can understand why. I deviated from the installation recommendations and that is on me. I did check vapor line pressures in cooling with the unit on regular and Turbo afterwards and everything looked good. ... show more
