Bought this for my daughter but I tested it thoroughly. I believe it is sturdy and easy to program and use. It was a bit hard to close, like it was slightly off kilter bit not enough to interfere with the closing or locking. The metal isn't super thick but that keeps it from being heavy. A professional could probably get in it,but I believe it's a good deterrent and the tether buys you some time. I'd recommend it. ... show more

If you are looking for lightweight sturdy durable safe, then this is the safe for you. It is compact but has plenty of room for cash, medical and credit cards, and prescriptions. It also comes with a cable so you are able to secure your safe virtually anywhere. I don't ever have to worry about my grandchildren getting hold of our RX and possibly harming themselves. It's also great to just pick the safe up and take it with you when you travel I just put my safe in the RV secure it with the cable and I'm done no worries. It is a comfort knowing that if anything happened to one of us, we got sick and needed medical attention we know exactly where our medical information is, and our Rx too. There is no need to be going through drawers and luggage trying to find all of this information when it's already tucked away in a safe place. When we want to go sightseeing we put our credit cards, cash, checks and wallets, in our safe and again no worries and we can enjoy our time admiring the scenery. Plus the bonus of having a 3 digit combination no worries about losing keys and being unable to get into your safe. This safe is very reasonable for the price you get a strong durable safe that isn't a hassle to move to one room or to another place. The cable is very strong and durable. This works to transport a handgun legally. However, it is made from very light weight material that is easy to pry open. I would never trust this to secure anything you want to keep away from children. But as a box to transport an item or a basic deterrent is all you need, thus is perfect. But it is important to keep in mind the price. I got this because I needed something to transport a handgun in a locked box and my luggage was always secure or with me. If you're not sure if you should get this thing or not, get it. It's extremely practical and large enough to fit the things you need to fit into it and small enough to slide under a seat or throw in your center console. Would fit any compact sub-compact weapon with extra room, but check the dimensions before buying it for a full size handgun. It also can fit many standard size medication bottles, and your phone/wallet/gps etc. The inner padding is easily removable which can provide more room. The tumbler style locking mechanism is better than the key version of this safe because you don't have to worry about losing keys. If you have somewhere you want to put it besides under your seat you can use industrial strength velcro and keep it from sliding around. If your car has black flooring and you put it under your seat then other people wouldn't even notice it was there. The interior is much bigger than I thought it would be and the combination is extremely easy to reset. The price is the biggest selling point as you won't find it cheaper anywhere else. Definitely recommend this for a portable safe or something to throw in a drawer at your house to keep little kids away from weapon or medication. However if you are specifically looking for an in-home safe, go a few steps up. This safe is built for portability and it serves that purpose the best. I hate this product so much that I decided to actually take the time write a review. After 10+ years of Amazon, this is my first review. Perhaps that will help you gauge how horrible the product is. This thing is simply junk. Thankfully the return process is easy so it is already on it's way back. At $15 I thought about just throwing it away. There are several reviews that say "pretty good for $20" or "I wasn't expect Fort Knox". I get that but I can't see any reasonable use for this item. In the attached picture, the box is actually locked. I am barely squeezing one side of the box and the other side pops open. Forget needing to pry with a thin knife or screwdriver. You could easily fit just about anything in there to pry it open or simply shake it to get out small items. I have better quality safes in the cars to lock up weapons but I was looking for a small combination box to take on vacation to secure cash and passports in the room. This is not it. Just do yourself a favor and don't even bother with it. FYI gun vault makes a 300 model with a dial lock but the locking mechanism is held together with plastic pieces that can break. I didn't know this until having used one for 2 years. Mine broke unexpectedly and I saw the weak link of the system. The unit gives a much better perception of security than the SentrySafe (from the outside) but it is not a robust design if someone tries to get in. The Gun Vault keyed units (100 and 200) have all metal locking systems. Just thought I would share since if someone is looking at this one they will probably check out the other one as well. ... show more
