  • Quality First-Party Accessory
Works well. There are third party mics that worked like this, it Sennheiser’s first party option is much higher quality (both build and audio quality) than any of the third party mics I’ve used in the past.

  • Pretty solid mic so far.
I had been using a boompro for a few years, but I don't really like the headphones I have with the 3.5mm jack. I saw Sennheiser came out with this mic, so I got one so I could use with my Sennheisers. I like how the Sennheiser mic locks into place, and the actual mic arm is more stiff than the boompro. It doesn't spin around or just bend super easily like the boompro does. The audio on this mic sounds good, the volume is also quite good. I had to turn the gain down in windows to about 10% for OBS, and 60% for in game chat. I feel like a lot of these kinds of smaller mics have low volume issues, but not this one. I watched a few reviews on this mic, and one that compared it to a generic boom mic for Sennheisers. The comparison video, the generic one sounded better, and the Sennheiser sounded nasal-y. Several of the other videos I watched, this mic had a similar nasal-y sound. I have a deeper, monotone voice, and I think these sound pretty good, at least from what I can hear from recording in OBS and Discord. This mic also doesn't seem to pick up background noise as much as the boompro, which is a plus. Not as much light static/hiss when I'm speaking either. I use a button for push to talk, with this mic, I might be able to leave the mic "open" all the time. It does a solid job blocking out noised other than my voice. Sort of a nit-pick, but I do wish at this price, it was a braided cable. Some people prefer this type of cable over braided though, myself included sometimes. And the cable is a little bit short. For me, this is not a problem. But if you need a longer cable, get ready to buy an extension. Also, the first one of these mics I received, only played audio in the left ear when locked in place. I've seen another review had the same issue. But it played in both ears on a few other pairs of Senns I have. So if you have multiple Senns, test this mic in all of them before your return window closes. The second mic I received did not have this issue. Leaving 4 star review. Removed the one star because of the quality control issue this mic seems to have, as well as it not having a braided cable. ... show more

  • GREAT product, bye bye v-moda
This is such a huge improvement over the other plug in boom mics on the market. I was using the v-moda boom pros and they sounded great but would always die after 6 months. I went through probably 5 of those things because there wasn't any other decent products on the market like it. This mic is soooo much better because it locks in and is sturdy and hasn't degraded and or had issues like I had with the v moda boom mic. Very happy thanks Sennheiser ... show more

  • DONT BUY - CROSS TALK ruined purchase
Bad product. While audio quality from mic is great, it suffers from a massive cross talk issue. ANY system sound will get picked up from the microphone even when muted. I have tried many ways to fix this, and this is completely unacceptable from a microphone from such a audiophile brand.

  • Blown away by the quality of this mic
I wasn't sure if this would be a great purchase vs the slew of cheap versions available. For the type of mic it is, it is truly worth the extra money. All my gamer friends and Zoom meeting people have said my sound quality is now superior not only to my previous headset, but to everyone in our groups. I paired this with a Sennheiser open back headset and I'm really blown away by this combo. Note, that Sennheiser has a locking mechanism where you must lock and twist it into place, if that isn't done properly you will only be able to hear out of one earcup on your headset, so make sure you have it inserted and twist locked and you'll have smooth sailing. ... show more

  • Headphones bleed into mic
Decent mic but there is a problem. The headphone audio bleeds through the mic. Discord noise cancellation removes a lot of background noise but it won't remove spoken word. So if you're watching a youtube video of someone talking, all of the dialogue will bleed through the mic and people can clearly hear. So unless you're using push-to-talk, I wouldn't recommend this mic. ... show more

  • Good quality but microphone clarity could be improved
Works great with the hd560s. Used to use a Astro a40 without mix and the built in mic was quiet compared to this. Very great neutral voicing but the actual clarity of the mic could’ve been better. I had a cheap mic that worked before which sounded clear but this is better quality

  • I've dreamed of this product for years.
Using with HD505, I've dreamed of this product for years. The only option for Sennheiser headset has always been the sports caster stuff. They finally did it. It works good, the mic sounds good, the cord is a bit short, but thank you after market for that fix. I won't ding it because the thought is more for laptop home office and less gaming headset. I just bought my 2nd one to keep on a shelf for someday, as all good products get discontinued or bought in some messed up merger and dissolved. ... show more
