Sena doesn’t support this product! My helmet’s battery does not hold a charge, and after 2 months of talking to their support people, they won’t replace the defective helmet. I have a total of 3 of these, 2 of them seem to be okay, but this one does not hold a charge more than 2 hours, and is clearly defective. When you open a ticket with Sena, it takes them weeks to respond, asking for info, then they vanish. When you call, be prepared to be on hold for an hour. The side strap adjustment clip broke and I was wondering if I could just purchase extra clips instead of going through a warranty process. They told me no - that I would have to ship the whole product back to them at my cost (over $15) and be without the helmet for a few weeks just to replace a 10 cent item. I would be willing to buy replacement parts since they are a cheap plastic and it broke the second time I put it on my head, but they don't support their product. Mind you it's a $120 product and you can't even but replacement parts for it. I like the helmet a lot but if you can not get parts for it it's an expensive waste of money. ... show more

    • Good but Important Limitation to Note

I've only had this a few days and so far I really like the fact that I can carry on a conversation with another rider without yelling or having to be right next to them. The helmet fits good and has a couple of adjustments on it to ensure a comfortable fit. I received a call on it and was able to hear the other person and they could hear me without any issue (I doubt they even knew I was riding at the time). The area I'm not real happy with is that you can either talk to others on the Mesh OR you can listen to music but you can't do both. And so far I haven't found a way to be listening to my music but have the Mesh network active just in case someone wants to talk to me. So basically, if you want to listen to music while riding with someone else, don't plan on talking to them, or maybe we come up with hand signals that say, "hey, switch to Mesh intercom". For me, this might be a deal breaker. I'm going to use them a few more days before deciding if I want to keep them or send them back. ... show more

Well a week after getting this I was riding my bike. I looked to the left to look at trash in the road and then I drifted into the sidewalk that was on my right. This threw me off the bike, resulted in cracked ribs, knocked the wind out of me, and arm being pulled out of the socket. This accident destroyed my helmet and I am going to probably need shoulder surgery. The helmet protected my head, kept me alive and prevented serious injury. I am going to buy another one of these helmets, however I will wait till I get back in a bike. Might be a year from now. ... show more

My husband and I do a lot of E-biking around Santa Fe and are thrilled with these helmets! They let us talk in a normal tone of voice, even if the other person is out of sight. We can warn each other about traffic, or upcoming turns - or just talk. The sound quality is excellent, even if it is windy. You can easily control volume with big side buttons while you are biking and can also answer the phone. We are still learning the commands - and that is one annoyance, when the helmet misinterprets what you are saying and asks, "say a command!". You have to say, "cancel!". My only real complaint is that the padding in the helmet is not comfortable to me and irritates my forehead. ... show more

Helmet is heavier than normal but you would expect that with the added technology. Things all seem to work as described. Music is kinda "tinny" but communications were clear and without much hesitation. Don't bother downloading the app on your computer to "Update" the firmware. They want you to disable all USB ports and start in your computer in safe mode etc. Why can't they just upload some current software so this isn't an issue with a $160 helmet. Can't there be an upgrade via Bluetooth instead of plugging it in? Or do it before sending out the product? ... show more

I really love these helmets. My wife and I both got one of these helmets so we could talk to each other while we ride. The mesh communication works great. It’s easy to connect the helmets and they automatically reconnect if you get out of range. The microphone is very good at filtering out background noise and only broadcasting what the other rider is saying. Though, sometimes you can hear if they are running over crunchy stuff like leaves. When you speak you barely have to say anything louder than a conversational level and the person on the other end can hear you clearly. My only complaint may be that I wish the audio when you make a phone call could be louder. I haven’t really tried to listen to music, but the sound quality from the FM radio will not please audiophiles but it gets the job done. I don’t like to listen to music on the bike though. I’d rather be able to hear my surroundings. Honestly Sena could drop the FM radio feature and I wouldn’t miss it. ... show more

We LOVE these! We had just bought new helmets that we loved!!! Then we heard about these and when we got them we were convinced that they were perfect for us!!! We took the other ones back!! These are invaluable for us since my husband has hearing aids and couldn't hear me when I would try and speak to him!
