The Outrush R is a Bluetooth modular motorcycle helmet that features seamless integration of Sena’s world-class audio Bluetooth system. The Outrush R comes complete with a sleek and versatile modular design, integrated speakers and a microphone, and smartphone pairing to access music and phone on your ride. Powered by Bluetooth 5.0, the Outrush R features 4-way Intercom, allowing up to four riders to pair their Sena Bluetooth devices to one another. Additionally, when connecting to just one other rider, users will experience 2-way HD Intercom, which will enhance the audio quality on the trip. Users can expect an impressive 900-meter (0.5 miles) intercom range and a talk time of up to 12 hours with the Outrush R. This item complies with US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 218 (FMVSS 218) (DOT FMVSS No. 218 Certified).

I bought this helmet for all the wrong reasons. I wanted a full face helmet, I waited until the last minute, it was available and I could get it overnight, etc. I've had it for a couple of years now and it's been a great all around helmet. It's comfortable and fits my head well (I tried an XL and had to return it in favor of this one), it's not too heavy, and it has a lot of features. The helmet has vents that can be open or shut, but I really can't tell the difference. I get a lot of air rushing in under the chin (I rarely use the removable chin deflector unless it's REALLY cold) so the vents don't matter much to me. I really appreciate the tinted flip down visor that is separate from the clear visor. I can ride around with the clear visor open and, if it's not dark out, still have eye protection as well as a breeze on my face. Really nice touch. The Bluetooth works well, though every once in a while it refuses to talk to my phone. I have to shut the helmet off and back on to get it to work. Once it does, it works flawlessly. I wear earplugs to drown out the engine noise and I can still hear the speakers at highway speeds. The batteries have lasted for more than 8 hours at a stretch so I can't complain about that. The flip down visor tends to fog up if I'm not moving, but any helmet that isn't a pin-lock will do that. I usually treat it with anti-fog spray, which helps. I haven't had to test the DOT rating, thank goodness, and I hope I never do. The only minor quibbles I have are that the recharging port is micro-USB instead of USB-C, and that the chin strap loosens up over time and is a minor nuisance to adjust. But I'm really just nitpicking. I really like this helmet and when it's time to replace it, I'll probably get the pin-lock version. ... show more

Does it perform like my old trusty Shoei, no. That helmet has less wind noise and performs better at high speed. Is the audio quality excellent, no. Very little bass, kinda trebly, distorts at full volume- but I’m an audiophile (car, truck, and house all have upgraded audio). That being said, this is a most excellent helmet for the price. Modular system works very well: easy on and off, simple to flip up to communicate or take a sip of a beverage. Coms work excellent! Huge range and clear voice. Calls are hard to take, too much road nose comes though at speed, but it does work in a pinch. Skip the wave app, stick with the Sena app. Built in, flip down sun glasses work well. Also fits my daily glasses or sunglasses as well. Easy to take apart and clean. Best bang for the buck in my opinion ... show more

Great helmet. I ordered a XXL which is a large for any other brand. It was very easy to pair and the sound is clear and loud. I also like the quick release. I just wish there was more color to choose from.

A great helmet but definitely runs small, after a few rides it conformed to my head. Speakers are surprisingly excellent, my hearing is terrible and my bike is loud and I could still hear the music loud enough but also could hear the bike. Pairing was easy, the app is good, the module on the helmet is simple and easy to use with gloves. I haven't used the intercom and likely won't. The helmet is okay for it's given purpose. The issue is communicating with the manufacturer. If you buy this helmet, you are going to receive one of two version, seemingly at random. Version 1.1.3 includes an FM radio on the chip. Version 2.0 does not. I bought two helmets. One had v1.1.3, the other has v2.0. No one on their 1st tier support knows about this. and neither did I until I tried to update the firmware on v1.1.3 helmet. When it failed to update to v2.0, I assumed it was defective so I returned it to Amazon and received a replacement. The replacement arrived and it also was v1.1.3. So contacting the manufacturer is a waste of time and an extremely frustrating experience. Ten days for an email response. A phone call to Sena. tier 1 had me trying again and again to update the helmet to v2.0. Only to find out 10 days later it cannot be done b/c they are different hardware versions. v1.1.3 has the FM radio and v2.0 does not. So the helmet is fine to save your brain, but a very unsatisfying experience should you ever have an issue and need Sena support. ... show more

Great helmet for the price my buddy had a large I tried on it fit to tight so I ordered a xl the cheek pads fit perfectly the upper liner was a little loose for me as I wear glasses and the helmet sat a little low it was a easy fix I ordered a large pad / liner set and swapped out just the top fits perfect now plenty of clearance for my glasses now just did a 168 mile ride. The blue tooth is great synced it with my buddies helmet easy clear conversation at all speeds and easy half mile range over all I'm very satisfied ... show more
