This dining set is beautiful and I love it. I will say to please be careful when using as it is made out of ceramic. It also gets super warm to the touch with hot items. They also make for pretty decor if you collect them.

The dinnerware set is elegant, light with a glossy finish that prevents scratches. It’s not heavy and most importantly its microwavable. It gives the table some personality with the decoration and gives you the feel that you are in Portugal. The price point is also convenient for such quality dinnerware that you’ll get compliments from, that we would highly recommend.

The Selamica Embossed Dinnerware Set comes in four settings which includes a dinner plate, salad plate, and a deep bowl (suitable for soup or morning cereal), for twelve pieces in all. Each of the four settings is comprised of a unique floral pattern with two in blue with a white background and two in reverse with the pattern in white and the background in blue (see photos). The box in which they are snuggly packaged contained a note on how to replace any piece that might have arrived broken…..Although not necessary in my case, that was a pleasant surprise from the seller. I was impressed with the heavy duty ceramic that will undoubtedly last over many years of use. They are microwavable and dishwasher safe, too. Although the patterns are a bit busy and may not appeal to everyone, I REALLY like them. Dining should, at least occasionally, be an experience and this dinnerware set helps make it that. Although I haven’t used them for guests yet, I expect these will garner many an inquiry and compliment. If you are looking for a gift that will tell the recipient they are special, this might be what you are looking for.

I absolutely loved the design of this dinnerware set, unfortunately it is not sturdy. Within a couple of uses and a wash through the diswasher we had a chipped plate. Today a bowl was gently placed on the counter and it cracked all the way to the middle. We are very gentle with our dinnerware, and I have never experienced breakage like this with any other dinnerware sets I have had in the past. It is very disappointing because I do love the design, but these are just not holding up to normal/light usage.

These plates are fun and certainly reasonably priced. Liked that the set came with deep and shallow bowls. But the patterns on the light colored plates are fuzzy and clearly look cheap when see them in real life. (The dark blue patterns look better. We will see how they fare after several cycles in the dishwasher.) Wish I had stuck with simpler, solid colored dinnerware, however.
