    • Effective in shrink wrapped boat over winter
I put one in each of two boats over the winter, one covered in a garage and the other shrink wrapped outside. This is in northern Illinois so there were hard freezes and very cold for months. They did the job just fine and both boats were dry and fresh when uncovered in the spring. One went kaput and just heated up with fan not turning at end of season, which was a little disappointing. I am revising my Review to 5 star. Fortunately I did not toss the broken unit in disgust. I contacted Caframo Customer Service after reading another Amazon Review. Within 24 hours they have offered to ship me a replacement if I provide the serial number. I can do that! I will continue to use and recommend these great little heaters that keep mildew at bay in the tropics. First review was one star. Broke after 14 months. Love these for mildew control. I have had three of these set on timers for twenty years. They lasted that long until I bought from Amazon. Two arrived broken. No padding. I kept the replacements (also packaged poorly with the item box inside an Amazon box-no padding) and one just broke. These are expensive but worth it when they last. ... show more

This product worked great initially. After about a month though it started to make noise and developed such an unbalanced vibration that i stopped using it out of fear it would trip the breaker, or even worse, lead to a fire if it got worse. it appears to me that the motor prematurely wore out such that it became out of balance. It should have lasted much, much longer! This product was recommended to me by several personal acquaintances, so I am disappointed but suspect maybe I got a lemon. I have not reached out to the company to ask for a replacement b/c I assume it'll be more waste of my time. ... show more
