My granddaughter just recently moved into her first apartment by herself with her two small children. A few days after she moved in and I called to see how things were goin, she said very well except I’m not sleeping at all at night I’m worried about someone breaking the locks on the door’s and coming in the house and I can’t get to my kids quick enough I am mediately got on Amazon, and found these two security men I bought them that night right after I hung up from talking to her, they were delivered to my house by 6:00 am the next morning, I put them together within seconds, so easy, and then my husband and I tested him on our doors, I Was amazed on how well they were made and the price paid. I called her and she stop on her way home from work and pick them up the next morning she calls me and she said grandma I slept all night long, those two security men are wonderful. During the day she uses one of them on the pantry door to keep her two-year-old out of there, that also works great definitely added bonus. They are made with good materials and very sturdy. I bought this set twice but received two different size sets.. I was very pleased with the first set, but the second set was not up to par. It was smaller not as heavy or well made. It's no longer made of cast iron. This first set I bought was well made, of heavy cast iron and I received 6 pieces with holes drilled in the smaller poles. I needed a security pole for my sliding glass door and tried a lightweight aluminum pole. Thieves got in because it wasn't sturdy or long enough. The first set wis ultra sturdy. The second set was much lighter.. It was fairly easy to cut to fIt. But I wanted protection and the second set didn't offer that. Instead. I trimmed them to fit my window sills. I tried to use them as designed for door protection. However, that didn't work for me because my door handle is too low and the bar couldn't be adjusted to that height. But also my door opens out. I no longer highly recommend this set for sliding glass door protection because the thieves got in with the second set I bought. ... show more

These door bars are fantastic in that they, when positioned in the proper angle, are a very stong and secure way to keep out unwanted intruders. I pound the bottom of the bar in place which gives a proper angle, gives a solid barrier, and no slipping at all. I highly recommend this product.

OK at first I thought these things were flimsy and wouldn't work (slid on smooth flooring surface) But hey, I can admit when I'm wrong. As it turns out I just needed to shorten the adjustments and it holds SO WELL that when I locked myself out one day, even the locksmith couldn't breach that door! And he was a young strong kid giving it everything he had. So it actually works great. It came with two, so one protects the front door from being kicked in, the other one is in my back sliding door. Kinda of flimsy. I went outside and pushed hard and the door did open with an effort. It says holds 300 pounds. Didn’t hold my 140. When pushed on hard the rod start to curve and bend. Not a great deterrent for safety.
