Dude, a ten year warranty? Seasonic has been a leading manufacturer of power supplies for years. This model is no exception. If 550 watts is sufficient for your build, and believe it or not it likely is, you won't find a better supply at any price. The fact is, power supplies are most efficient in the middle to upper end of their ratings. If the supply is running at only five percent of it's capacity, it's not at it's highest efficiency. If you have a UPS with a watt meter, or a power monitor, check what your computer is pulling from the wall. I have a Core-I7 8700K with 16 GB RAM and an ATI graphics card. At idle, I'm pulling 72 watts. Under a full load, I'm only pulling 170 watts. My old desktop was an AMD FX-8350. Everyone knows AMD processors are power hungry. With 8 cores running at just under 5 GHz, I had to use a liquid cooler. It was a beast, but pulled 280 watts at full load. If you have the highest end graphics cards and tons of other internal peripherals, you might need a larger supply, but I doubt it. Now I haven't put this on a scope to monitor it's frequency, noise factor, and other aspects of it's output, and I don't have to. It's a Seasonic. I'm a pro, and I trust Seasonic like no other, and you should too.

No complaints here. Install was straightforward in my NZXT H500. I haven't noticed the noise once over my stock AMD Wraith cooler. I keep hybrid mode on but accidently had it off for a few months and didn't notice a difference. Fully-modular is amazing! No more loose useless cables floating around. Only one interesting thing I can point out is that it does not have a single SATA power cable, only cables with two SATA power plugs. It works fine with just one HDD, but that means there is one unused plug on the cable sitting there. Came with a bag (useless), an expired promise of a Steam code (useless), and a bunch of blue SEASONIC-branded cable-ties that are nice quality but ugly. No comment on energy efficiency - how tf does Amazon expect us to have an opinion on that?

This is my first Seasonic product. I purchased to replace a lower tier unit in a case that required 140mm/ 5.5" max PSU length. As someone who has always purchased lower tier 3 & 4 PSU's, I can really tell the difference here. Looks and feels well made, has a nice weight to it. Really nice packaging and plenty of cables. The only thing I wish I could change is the length of the cables. At almost 60cm/24" they are too long for my M-ITX build, and I can't find any short cables from Seasonic. Custom cables are too expensive. System Specs: ASUS H81i Intel i7 4790 3.6-4.0Ghz 16GB EVGA DDR3 ASUS GTX 1060 6GB 256GB Samsung 840 1TB WD Black Cooler Master Elite 110 I will update this review when I have more experience with the Focus Plus 550. I will be upgrading to a 1660 TI or 1070 TI and I am curious to see how this Seasonic unit will hold up in my little toaster oven

Can't say enough good things about Seasonic and their power supplies. I have used power supplies from just about every company out there and Seasonic has always been the one I've had the least trouble with. My two favorite companies were EVGA and Seasonic. I have had one of each fail, an EVGA 1000w and a Seasonic Gold 850watt. I went through both companies RMA process and EVGA found any excuse in the world to deny my RMA claim, while Seasonic sent me back another great working unit. Moral of the story. Seasonic honors their product and their warranty and because of that I buy Seasonic over all other brands now.

I was having a hard time actually installing the units power lines to internal components especially the CPU power line. I thought I had the CPU cable from the PSU but I did not and I kept wondering what the hell was wrong. once I figure out I had the wrong cable things got easier, I was a bit concerned that the second 4 pin piece of the CPU connector didnt seem to have the right pin outs but it seems like they make it so once you place the first 4 the others are in the right way anyway. Nothing blew up and it started up right off the bat. So thanks Seasonic for a great product.

I have had no issues with this power supply. Very quiet and reliable. Extra info about Seasonic: A few years back, I had one of my seasonic power supplies die. No smoke, just wouldn't start up. Seasonic honored the warranty, and provided me with a replacement. Very hassle-free process. All they asked for was proof of recycling the old unit, so they could apply the warranty to the new one. I appreciate working with Seasonic. Great experience :)

There's a site I won't mention that puts power supplies in to very hot cases. Basically ovens. Then runs them with Threadrippers and SLI 1080Tis to see how the power supplies handle it all. Most don't pass and so they don't even get a review. Those that do pass get a review, silver, or gold. This PS got a gold. That says a lot. Plus, as far a I know, Seasonic basically makes just PS. So they'd better do their thing well. Good reputation. My last PS started a horrible coil whine. So I needed a new one. This one is silent. The fan doesn't even run until needed and then it's still quiet. But it's plenty powerful enough to run my i5 at 4ghz and my 1080ti. I live in Phx. It's winter now. We'll see how this handles the heat in the summer when ambient temps are already at 75. I'm confident this PS will hold up.

I normally don't test the strength physically of a power supply but when I had some transportation issues and all my comps including power supplies were jacked up and didn't work the two I had with Seasonic did. They were bent all to hell but they kept working! Other than that its a power supply that provides a nice clean even stream of go-go juice. Or power..whatever you want to call it.
