This armored hoodie is the best best bang for the buck. First of all the color is spot on, it looks a lot lighter in the pictures, so when it showed up and it was darker it made my day. I really didn't expect for this hoodie to be this thick and warm as it is. I really like that elastic bottom, stays tight and keeps it from riding up exposing your butt crack to the wind. The only thing that I have a problem with... is the zipper. IT SUCKS!! Zipper is to small and you have to fight to zip the hoodie up, but once you get the hang of it its no problem.

As a woman, I feel like there aren’t a ton of options for casual riding wear, so I went with a men’s product. I ordered a couple sizes up based on other reviews and it was a little big. I’ll be returning for the next size down. I initially ordered an XXL. I’m 5’6 for reference and pretty curvy. Chest - 45”, waist - 35”, hips- 47” I am by no means a small woman, but I do feel like there is a lot of extra room. The waistline/hip band itself fit more snug than the rest, but the belly area, shoulders, and sleeves were definitely too roomy, even with the padding. The hoodie is very warm and it’s a very thick material. I imagine this would be just fine for central California coast summer weather, which is what I bought it for. (Cold and foggy in the mornings and 65-75° afternoons). The padding is a little odd. It’s very large in the area it protects (which could be because I got a size too big) but it also doesn’t feel like the “BEST” armor out there. For the price, it’s more than I expected though! I have about a 5 min commute to work, where I don’t go over 50mph and I just wanted a semi-protective sweater that wasn’t as heavy as my regular jacket. I think this fits the bill perfectly as is. If you’re on the fence, I think it’s definitely worth it! I think it’s the best you’ll find for the price!

I paid less than 50 for this jacket, and so I’m reviewing it compared to similarly priced jackets, which are largely often a joke. I was hit by a car and injured because some of my safety gear failed, so I am taking new gear seriously. I expected an off the rack hoodie with aftermarket pads sewn in by a middleman. What I got was a thoughtfully designed motorcycle hoodie that has impressed multiple long-term riders. My favorite feature is the thumb strap - it ensures your arm pads don’t slide out of place if you hit the ground (happened to me). It also has pant straps to cover your whole back if you wear gear pants. The arm pads cover from above my elbow down most of my bicep. It covers the shoulders and a decent amount of the back. These are CE 1 pads, so this is for city streets and boulevards, not 70MPH highway riding. Within those parameters, it’s well padded. I look like a linebacker from behind. I’m 5’1”, 200 lbs. I bought a small and it fits perfectly. I specifically needed to fit wide but short arms with a wide body; most jackets that fit my abdomen are too long and loose in the arms. The elasticity makes this jacket work. Both side pockets are internal mesh with solid zippers. I feel secure putting items in them while I ride. The left breast has another tight pocket that appears to be a water resistant material. It would definitely buy you some time to pull over and get your phone somewhere waterproof. The only drawback is it’s placed right where anything in it will be smashed and dragged if you slide on your left/front, so maybe not a great phone pocket anyway. The hoodie is thick and the zippers are of a good weight. It’s quite warm, too; good for a Southern California summer night or with layers in a colder region. A bit hot if you live in the desert or coast, it’s not super breathable.

I really liked it when I got it. It's thick and fits well. I usually wear a large but due to the fitment notes I got an XL and it fits perfectly. BUT then I noticed the zipper. It's really small and cheap so its hard to get it zipped correctly and not have it split open below the zipper. After wearing it a few times it broke off completely. Gotta send it back, bummer.

I would say that for the price this is probably the best padded hoodie i could find. I haven’t tried to swap the pads out but it looks like i can use another branded pads in the slots. I may just keep it the way it is and use it as a putt around town jacket. The zipper is small and finnicky, i feel like the zipper is on the wrong side too but it works. I would not cruise real fast and trust these pads to save your skin. Only you can make that call though, its better than no padding.

Ordered large and extra-large and ended up keeping the extra large and returning the large. Pretty good hoodie, considering it as a fraction of the price of a lot of the others in the market. Shoulder and back armor sets pretty well, elbow armor moves a little bit, but overall a great hoodie for the price.
