We purchased this mattress and it was delivered earlier than expected. Followed the instructions to a tee. This mattress was already expanding once we removed the plastic and by the end of the day, it was ready to sleep on. It's comfortable and molds to your body whichever way you sleep. Normally these type of mattresses are over $1,000 at an average mattress of furniture store. We only paid under $600 for a 12" king. Great quality and comfort for the price. It is very difficult to find a mattress that is supportive without being rock hard. This one is amazing. I have titanium rods and screw in my back after two spine surgeries and have rheumatoid arthritis which causes sever pain. I spend thousands of dollars on a two previous brand name mattresses that were very firm. They both sagged terribly within 6 months of purchase. My husband and I are both well under 200 lbs, so there was no good reason for these expensive mattresses to sag so horribly. The mattress gets 5 Stars! I just replaced my 8" Sealy memory foam that I bought in 2005. That's way too long but it remained great until the very last. So I went with this 10" upgraded version and couldn't be happier. I expect it to give me many years of great sleep. **BUT** Amazon's offer to deliver and "take your old mattress" is an F'ing joke. They said if there are ANY stains on the old mattress then they can't haul it away. Is your old mattress 100% perfectly clean?? Prepare to dispose of that sucker yourself because Amazon is not going to take it. That's why it loses a star. Buy this mattress though! ... show more

I'll admit to having been skeptical about purchasing a mattress in a box. The reviews for the most popular ones were all over the place, adding to my doubt. When I bumped up the price range I was looking for and decided to focus on established brands, this Sealy stood out from the rest. I took the plunge and ordered it. It arrived 4 days earlier than estimated. I set it up early the next morning before going to work to give it time to expand. Set up was simple, the hardest part was getting a 60 pound box up the stairs and my old mattress out of the way. As I got to the end of the shrink wrap, the mattress began uncoiling, slowly enough that I had enough time to position it atop my existing box spring. There was no odor, as some reviews on some products mention. It assumed full shape pretty quickly and was ready for sheets, etc. when I got home from work. I slept on it that night. It's very comfortable, I toss and turn a whole lot less than I used to do, my sleep quality is definitely improved! The memory foam conforms to me while being neither too soft nor too firm. The springs underneath provide good support for the whole thing. I'm very pleased with it. I used my existing bed frame and box spring, which went against the recommendations but I have three metal cross bars on the frame each with a support in the middle and they all attach to the wooden side rails that slot into the head and foot boards with metal supports. If you have a sturdy bed frame, you'll be OK. You will need a box spring if you do not have a platform bed frame. With all that, the mattress does weigh 60 pounds so make sure you can accomodate that weight. Final comment, sitting on the edge of this mattress is no different from doing so on a regular mattress, it's plenty firm enough, the memory foam and coil springs support my 250 pounds just fine. ... show more

Not too firm. Not too soft. The springs are completely supportive. The thick top pad is cushy but doesn't trap you. It's easy to roll and move. We both prefer a firm matress with a medium 2" latex pad and yet our backs, hips, neck feel great after a sound night's sleep on this bed. I also haven't had any overheating issues like I've had before with 3" elastic memory foam/cool gel foam, etc. The frosting on top is that this is Sealy quality. The materials feel/look high quality. Even has a great zippered cover. I call this mattress a great value and am so happy that I made the right choice. Well worth a little extra money. ... show more
