  • Alot better than you think.
Works great, can play older games off of it and very few smaller newer games. Sounds like a jet engine after some years but might be dust accumulation so a simple fix. Also functions as an extra USB port for added utility. Can potentially hold other files beyond games and music. My only issue is it didn't come in different colors originally but I can't complain it's severed me well. Definitely a lot better than those dinky skinny ones Microsoft peddles as an external from other third parties. ... show more

  • Well worth it
We have four xbox ones in our household and the installs for certain games can be massive. Even with a 1TB HDD, it will take no time at all to fill it up with a few AAA titles. Gears of War 4 or Halo 5 by themselves are over 100 GB a piece along with several other titles coming in with massive downloads too. We placed this with our main Xbox One X that is used in the living room, because that is the one we use to play local games together like fighting games or sports games and such. It adds a massive boost and is nice that you can truly make an entire library that is ready to access right away. The install couldn't be easier! You just stick it in a usb slot in your xbox, it will ask you if you want it for pictures, music, etc. or would you like it to put games on it. If you choose the latter, it will format it and then it asks you if you would like to use this for the default storing area and that's it. Anytime now, when you download a game or dlc, it will automatically store it on there instead of the internal HDD. You can also move something from the internal to the external, although this pauses anything you have downloading until it is finished. I was a bit nervous that the performance would go down a bit by using this, but I haven't noticed any and have tried games that I played on both the internal and external. I'm not exactly sure how durable it is, but I don't really want to find out. It's in a plastic box, so I don't really think it could take too much abuse. I'm trying to keep it in an area where it won't have to move around much and will be stable. This is a really nice device too, because I install a lot of games on it that I'm unsure if we'll like completely and everyone in my family can get on here, try a game out and if they like it, install it on their own xbox, instead of cluttering it up quickly for something they won't play much anyway. The price is a bit high, but it's well worth it if you have a game pass, ea access or a large library of games. ... show more

  • Everything Xbox for the 8tb HDD
Works as intended. (Albeit ever slighly noisy in a quiet room) I have it mated to an Xbox Series S console. Does not load as fast as the solid state slot cards or the internal SSD. USB 3.1 cable included, as well as the power cable. Works fast for an hdd, doesnt have noticably slow download times or lag or any of that stuff (as compared to my previous Xbox One X setup). As with all hard drives, the more you put on it, the longer it takes in general. Everytime you open the "my games and apps" section on the Xbox, it checks for updates and squares away all of the files on the drive, so repeatedly moving from menu to menu really fast and keeping many games open at once isnt really something I ever do, as I seek longevity from my purchases. I also only keep maybe 20 or 30 games at a time on it so it doesnt take long to load. For the Series X/S game titles: New Xbox Series X/S labeled game titles still have to be downloaded onto the internal SSD or one of the solid state slot cards. This drive is good for owners of Xbox One X enhanced and older titles (Xbox One, Xbox 360, Xbox). ... show more

  • Very useful and reliable
Very useful if you like to keep every game that you have played available for replay. The install process is plug it in wait like 15 seconds and it pops up on your Xbox then just go to storage setting in your console to set it up for game or video storage. I have had it for 10 months comming up on a year in December it works great still, I have had no problems, I actually just had a problem recently on my Xbox one X where there was a dlc for a game that was corrupted and would not let me uninstall it to redownload no matter what I did but the Hub let me transfer all of my internal things over and factory reset my Xbox to repair the game without using anything. I have knocked it over countless times while running, it has got unplugged several times while on from being knocked over (haven’t accidentally unplugged while running a game off of it). It has survived travels through an army duffle bag through MANY airport rides without anything protecting it (I do however recommend you do protect it) it loads games decently great for just taking with you to your friends house to take your games with you. Transfers 100GB games like halo 5 or 70GB destiny 2 from it to internal in what feels like just a couple minutes compared to the long download times. You can do a lot with the drive it works very well and is reliable. Also it comes with a plugin on it that has Literally every adapter for almost every outlit in the world the 220 is really helpful for me at the moment but you should consider it for all your stores he needs. Xbox formatting takes 800GB from it because that’s what Microsoft does. ... show more
