This little 3w engraver is great for small projects, and it's small enough to take with you. You will need to have a laptop with you, though, as there is no wireless connectivity. I picked up this engraver because of its size. It is pretty portable and comes already assembled out of the box! Sculpfun engravers have great build quality, and I have owned and still own a few over the years, and they work well for me. Something else that impressed me about this engraver is the .04 x .04mm dot size, which is pretty impressive and makes for very detailed engravings. I am an absolute newbie to laser engravers. I had kept in the back of my mind that I might want one since I love to start new hobbies and always want to make cool things and have several crafting machines but had never researched how to use one or what all they can do before receiving this one, however, I already know I like this brand because when I was searching for a heat press SCULPFUN had recently come out with one that I loved the design of and purchased after lots of research on all that are on the market and I couldn't be happier with it, so when thinking of a laser engraver, this brand was already top of my list for options. The C1 Mini Laser Engraver came and it was extremely lightweight and compact, however, the machine itself is sturdy and well made. It takes minimal assembly and is pretty much usable right out of box after one piece is attached. The instructions aren't great for someone who has absolutely NO idea or experience with this kind of machine, but they do have a website with other types of instructions and links for videos for the software you use for these machines so that is helpful. I also found YouTube helpful for understanding what the machine is capable of and how it interacts with the software etc. Keep in mind that this is a MINI machine and you will not be able to do all of the things you would with the standard size machines and the working area is much smaller (however, I find the working area enough for pretty much anything I would want to engrave anyways), it also doesn't take up much space at all which is nice for someone like me whose ever growing craft room keeps getting more and more full. Overall if you are looking for a smaller laser engraver to do some small engraving or just to start out and learn how to use them this machine is a great option for that and the price point is perfect. I am super excited to see all the things I can easily make with this as I continue to learn as I go! ... show more
