Simply make your polymer oven bake clay creation and bake in your home or toaster oven at 275 °F for about 15-30 minutes depending on the size of your creation. After baking, it can be sanded, drilled, carved and painted with water-based acrylic paints. This oven bake clay will not dry out, so you can take your time crafting and not have to rush to finish your projects like you do with air dry clay. Once baked, Sculpey III oven-bake clay assumes a matte, bisque-type finish. Be sure you read the size of this package. It looks much larger in the picture than what you get. It is a very tiny amount. The product itself is awesome. The color is beautiful and it's easy to use. It is very soft and it bakes well. But just remember it is a smaller size and not the big size. But I highly recommend this product. I use it all the time. ... show more

I needed this for snowmen, for their eyes and mouth line on fabric snowmen. Made coal looking eyes, and small little round balls for mouth line. Used fabric glue to attach, I think the glue I used was Aleene's. Everything held well. I also used the orange clay for carrot noses, made lines on the clay with toothpick, for carrot look. I had a hole in the fabrics face that I attached the carrot nose, so I made it a bit longer, because it went into the fabric face, and held well with the glue. Easy to work with. ... show more

Color: Green
Sculpey III is generally cheaper than Premo and softer. It has a higher moisture content and is relatively pliable compared to the Premo. I found the Leaf Green to be closer to Army Green, and to make a leaf I'd combine the Forest Green and Kelly Green with a smidge of black or white to adjust the hue. To me, personally, the color visually did not register as Leaf colored, but color perception is subjective and not something you can objectively evaluate. It's not sticky, but pliable so it's good for 8 year olds to use because they'll have to work to bend it meaning their project will take more time, but they might get frustrated because it's not soft like play-doh. Sculpey III I like for blending colors, whereas the Sculpey Premo works best if you want a marbled effect with different colors and you don't want to mash together and turn brown. So ease of use depends on hand strength which is related to age and size. I can't speak to durability, other than I don't think this is something you want to put in the dishwasher, but for kid craft projects, a trinket dish, etc. this has a smooth finish, and can be glazed and takes texture well. Although, I wouldn't expect to be able to make a plate or table with it and have any durability. ... show more

Love using Sculpey with my kids. The clays blend to make new shades and colors and swirl together to make beautiful patterns. You can make millefiori like patterns (think stained glass), jewelry beads, small action figures and pretty much anything you can think of using the clay. My son has made his favorite video game characters and loves making items for friends. The clay can be baked hard (15 minutes in an oven) as long as the piece is not too thick. It can be glazed after that to really make the colors shine but we usually skip that step. It is fairly brittle once baked hard so is not good for making items that are thin and will see a lot of wear and tear. Otherwise, a marvelous craft resource and hours of fun! ... show more

First time clay user here! I needed a “Heart of Ta Fiti” bead for a costume and wasn’t prepared to spend $20+ for one, so I decided to try making it myself! Used some cuticle tools (for nails) to help me with the carvings, and then used water based acrylic paint on it before baking it. It came out better than I could ever have hoped!
