I’ve seen the "E-Scooter boom" bring with it a massive spike in theft. The problem? Most traditional U-locks are too rigid for scooter stems, and cable locks are basically "gift wrap" for thieves with a pair of bolt cutters. The Honszex Handcuff Chain Lock is one of the most practical security solutions I’ve tested for the micro-mobility market. It takes the "handcuff" design—pioneered by high-end security brands—and makes it accessible and portable for the everyday commuter. The Design: Purpose-Built for Scooters The genius of the handcuff mechanism lies in its versatility. One end "cuffs" your scooter stem or frame, while the other secures it to a bike rack or pole. Because the cuffs have a pivoting link, they are incredibly difficult to attack with power tools or pry bars—there’s simply no "leverage point" for a thief to exploit. Portability & Weatherproofing One of my biggest gripes with heavy-duty locks is where to put them while riding. Honszex solves this by including a Waterproof Scooter Bag. I bought this to secure my mobility scooter to the car carrier hitch/ramp. This is well made and I definitely felt secure with the scooter handcuffed to the carrier. It took a bit of learning what was the easiest way to secure it to the scooter wheels around the frame of the carrier. The cuffs are hard to fit through the wheels and frame since the cuffs only open so far and they don't twist or turn at the cuff. The chain is very adjustable. I felt confident enough with the security of these that I left the scooter secured onto the carrier overnight in the hotel parking lot. Of course, if someone desperately wants to wrestle with it to steel the scooter then they would have to cut the chain. ... show more

Perfect for locking up an electric scooter. Bought this in 3 different colors and like that the keys match the colors. It is a heavier lock and requires a bigger storage bag (4L). Easy enough for my 7 yr olds to lock them up at school. Love that the locks don’t lock in place without the key so you can’t accidentally lock it. ... show more
