  • Do yourself a favor and invest in this stroller/trailer!
We have not used this as a bike trailer yet, so I will update my review once we do. But I cannot say enough good things about this model as a stroller. I saw this stroller at a garage sale (it wasn't for sale) three years ago, and have wanted it ever since. But at that time it was discontinued, so I have literally been waiting three years for this stroller. So my expectations were pretty high. First off, it handles like a dream. It rotates and turns sooo smoothly, and we walk and jog comfortably with it - there is no need for an additional or jogger wheel. The bench seat is very comfortable for the kids. It is a fully padded bench seat, not a sling. I will recommend if using it for an infant, buying an infant insert since it is just a bench with no sides or support. The first time I put my 10MO son in it he kept sliding down, and didn't seem comfortable at all. I bought a Burley insert that matches perfectly and now he loves riding. And just for perspective, my 10MO is big for his age (21lbs) and able to sit-up just fine. Also, I have not yet had to move him to the middle seat when jogging with him by himself. The stroller handles perfectly with him on one side (which is nice because moving the infant insert would be a pain). And there is plenty of room to carry him and his 5YO sister together. When we first got the stroller I was a little worried I would still need our single jogger if they both weren't riding, but the stroller rides so smoothly, and handles so well, I actually prefer it over our single jogger even though it's bigger. And again, for perspective, I am 5'4" and have no issues pushing it. My husband is 6'5" and also loves it - although he definitely puts the handlebar on the highest setting. In previous models they mentioned there was a mesh screen behind the top of the seat - there it not in this model. Also, previous reviews complained that the wheel vibrated profusely at high speeds. They must have changed the design of the wheel because in an effort to be proactive about the vibrating, I took the wheel apart per another reviewer's suggestion, and this wheel design was completely different. So no need to bother with that adjustment. I also think they may have decreased the size of the storage bag in the back, as it does not seem as big as previous reviewers have stated. However, there is plenty of room on the floor of the stroller if you want to carry a diaper bag or cooler. The parent tray is made of nylon (I think) and buttons on, but we've had no issues with it falling off. The only cons of the stroller are that it's too big to fit through a single door (otherwise I would take it everywhere), and that I wish the straps had clips attaching them to the seat vs the threading adjusters. If I ever do have to move the infant insert, it will be a pain to rethread the straps. Like I said we have not used it as a bike trailer yet, but I can tell it's going to be a breeze to set-up, as you literally just push a button to disconnect the wheel and twist and lock the tow bar in place. Everything on this stroller looks and feels high quality. Not only does it have an attractive design, but all of the materials are sturdy and well made. I have seem the higher end competitor models and would pick this one over them every time. Now granted we live in the south, and I'm not using this off-road or in the backwoods. So I can't speak to how well it would hold up in those situations. But for everyday jogging/walking it's great, and I am pretty sure we are going to love it as a trailer as well. APRIL 2016 UPDATE: We've used this as a bike trailer several times, and I still give it glowing views. Converting it from a stroller to bike trailer literally takes less than a minute. There is plenty of room for my almost 6YO and 1YO to ride comfortably. Granted we are not biking at high speeds, some people have stated it drags the bike down at high speeds. It is a load for my husband to pull 65lbs of kiddos plus the trailer up a hill, but we had the same issue with our old trailer with just our daughter in it. The only negatives on this stroller are the fact that it doesn't fit through a standard door, and I wish it had a little more sun cover on the top. To remedy that I bought a yard of gray wicking fabric and fashioned my own shade that I can adjust over the front. And even though it doesn't fit through a door, it takes less than 30 seconds to collapse and take the wheels off, if you want to throw it in the back of your vehicle. Three months later I am still in love with this trailer/jogger! ... show more

  • Versatile, high-quality stroller
We bought this stroller based off of reviews so after having used it for the past 6 months we felt like we should give it a great review!! We were hesitant to buy it initially because we were not sure how it would do as a jogging stroller. But we trained for a half marathon with it holding a 3 year old and 1 year old so it can definitely work as a jogging stroller! My husband has used it as a bike trailer a few times and has been impressed. We live in Seattle so we can also guarantee that is waterproof and the rain shield works well. The seating is nice and cushioned. The seat belts are adjustable which is another plus. Very easy to assemble and disassemble. It is a little on the heavy side. However, I am not that strong and can still carry it up 3 flights of stairs to our apartment. Fits easily in the trunk of our compact car, too. What else? We do have a couple of cons. One, it does not have much storage. It does have 3 large "cup" holders on the handlebars so you can definitely fit water bottles, keys, phone, etc. And there is a back pocket behind the seats but doesn't hold much more than a blanket and a couple of small toys. It fits what we need but it isn't like you could pack a picnic or helmets anywhere. Second, it is pretty cozy in there. Our girls are 3 1/2 and 1 and they fit comfortably but it is a bit tight. There is a large amount of leg room which we have used to store bigger items we take along on our outings. Overall though, we have been very pleased with our purchase. We would recommend it to others which is why we felt the need to write a review! Hope this helps you on your search because it is a bit of an investment. ... show more

  • More pros than Burley Bee
I got this trailer on sale so it was about the same price as the burley bee. Although I like the look of the burley bee better and storage capacity, I decided on the joyrider for a few reasons: - easily converts to a stroller with tire included - the bike attachment stores neatly under the trailer - easily folds like a stroller - no Velcro/zippers so it easier to get children in and out and no chance of having to deal with replacing zippers later on - bench style seat is more comfortable than hammock style - includes storage for water bottles near the handle bars -more ventilation especially if your comfortable with ridding with the cover up. I would have liked: - the front tire to be air filled tire vs the plastic type. It’s not a big deal for me as I already have a double all terrain stroller so I won’t be use the trailer as a stroller a lot but it’s convenient if my child falls asleep while at the park and I can detach from the bike and push her around while keeping an eye on my other children. - not reclinable… that function is only available on very expensive trailers and it’s still not fully reclinable. I’ll add some head support to see if that helps support my child’s head while napping. - more storage like the the burley bee for balls or groceries. -doesn’t include pockets for snacks or water bottles inside the trailer. I took a star off because I couldn’t use it from the get go. One of the screws and hex nuts were not tightening and customer service didn’t have them in stock. When they finally sent it, they still didn’t send the hex nut. I ended up sourcing my own long screw and hex. Overall, I really recommend this trailer. My 3 year old can ride with my 1 year old and my 6 year old also fits with my 1 year old without feeling heavier. Great investment to get out with my children. My children love to ride in it. ... show more

  • LOVE THIS TRAILER!! Goes everywhere my bike goes!
We LOVE this bike trailer. I’m an avid bike rider and wanted to be able to take my daughter for long rides on all types of terrain this trailer has been amazing. Its got great shocks on it and take all the bumps really well. It rides great through grass, rocks, and dirt. It can pretty much go through whatever your bike can ride through. The raincover is great for windy days and rain of course. Most days, we leave it off and tucked neatly in the back storage pocket. There isn’t any storage inside the trailer, only the storage pocket attached on the back and handlebars. Most times I just slip A few diapers and wipes in the back and put my purse in the foot space. There is no sunshade, so I sometimes pin a blanket up to shade her eyes. It works great for one child and even better for two children. My daughter is 11 months and ends up leaning to the side so I added huge beach towels to each side to help her sit up and comfy during bumpy rides. When she has a friend with her, they don’t lean like that. The seats don’t recline, so if they go to sleep like my daughter tends to, then end up leaning or slumped over. Bottom line, this is a smooth ride. It’s not cheap, but honestly, this is worth every penny. I will be able to take my daughter for rides until she’s at least 40lbs. So I’ll get a good 5 years out of this at very least. Does NOT fit through normal doorways, so If you are looking for something to stroll in and out of an apartment easily, this is not it. This is perfect for storing in a garage. I keep mine in the back of my compact suv and take it out daily to use. It’s easy to break down and open up so I don’t mind taking a few extra minutes to pack it up every time. ... show more

  • Great double bike trailer - SOLVED TRAILER COUPLER ISSUE Great double bike trailer - SOLVED TRAILER COUPLER ISSUE
The Schwinn Joyrider was very easy to set up and required little tools. What won me over versus other offerings, InStep, Burley, AllenSports, Thule, or Aosom were the following: - Ease of opening and closing the canopy for entry and exit. No zippers or velcro. The canopy pulls down and latches into place. Time will tell if the spring latch will weaken, but so far, it looks to be solid. -20 inch spoked rims. Most offerings had spoked rims instead of a plastic wheels, but this was considered for ride quality and ease of replacing inner tube in the event of failure. -Stroller/Jogger conversion included (front wheel). -Bench seat and cushion, it is very comfortable for my girls. -Ease of use, collapses flat with slide latches on either side, and opens by pulling up on handle to extend frame. I had an issue with the coupler. Bike frame rear dropout did not have sufficient clearance and the coupler was too large to fit. Emailed Pacific Cycle and received a response that there is NOTHING that could be done. They marked the issue as resolved. I was very dissatisfied with their response and resolution options. After internet searching, short of fabricating an extension or alternate coupler (the internet is very creative), I sourced a working solution (SEE PICTURE). You'll have to research to ensure the size and adapter fits, but this is an acceptable solution to get the trailer attached in a safe manner. • Smooth ride. Very sturdy, comfortable amd light.
Very comfortable, sturdy and handles bery smoothly and almost effortlessly. Its large so if you need to take it through natrow doorways, that could pose an issue HOWEVER, the wheels remove very easily so i just pop one off and roll it through smaller doorways. Its light and attaches to my bike in seconds. My toddler is so cimfortable in it that he falls asleep! ... show more

  • Well worth the money!!!
(CaptainSpicy's wife here) We LOVE this trailer! The first one we received had a faulty canopy latch, so the canopy wouldn't stay closed. I emailed the company and within 24 hours they had replied and said it wasn't a replaceable part, so I would need to get a replacement trailer from Amazon. I submitted my replacement request through Amazon, and within 24 hours my new trailer was on its way! So easy! I love that it was shipped to me and then I have 30 days to return the defective one, so that my daughter and I could continue to enjoy our bike rides while waiting for the new one to arrive! Outstanding customer service from both companies! I love this trailer for a couple reasons: • while it is a double trailer, it can be used for a single child, with center straps to not be off-center. The straps were very easy to unhook and flip around to switch from two seat to one. • other reviews mentioned there was a good amount of room for the kids' feet, and this IS indeed the case. For a long ride, I was wanting to be able to take the diaper bag, a blanket (if it's chilly), a picnic lunch for the park, and whatever babies my daughter can't part with that day. There is PLENTY of room for whatever I want to cart along! • assembly and disassembly are SO easy. This trailer is wide, so if you assemble it inside, you'll need either an extra wide door to get it outside, or you'll have to collapse it and turn it sideways to get it out. That's easy enough to do though. I am so glad I went with my gut and bought this trailer! It's perfect for what I needed! ... show more

  • Not the same as the original, but overall dome design and child padding is worth the purchase
I just purchased this last week but it's not the same as the original Schwinn Joyrider that came out years ago. I don't think the quality of the frame and handlebar are as sturdy as the original. Also it does not have all of the convenient features of original such as the storage behind the seat in the interior or the seat recline. I was disappointed initially with the product and questioned whether to send back to Amazon or not. After having it for a week and ordering a competitor bike trailer/jogger/stroller, I am keeping the Schwinn Joyrider. The child seat is distinctly more comfortable. Competitor had my children sitting on a metal bar and no padding. This product has good padding and children are sitting on air which is nice for semi-long rides. Also the design can't be beat. It looks cool and is so easy for my kids to get in and out of with the full open front. The handlebar is not as sturdy as I would like but we'll see how that holds up over time. It certainly is a smooth ride as a stroller and swivels nicely. It WILL NOT fit through a standard door. Build it in your garage or you will have to close it and carry it through sideways to get it through a normal door. I have not used it as a bike trailer yet so I will update my comment at that point. The stroller wheel is foam and not a rubber air-inflated wheel (one of my disappointments). The manual states that the stroller should not be used as a jogger. I am going to try it out and see how it rides with the foam wheel. The foam wheel only swivels and does not lock. Should you like to jog with a straight wheel this is not the stroller for you. There could be more overall storage but its nice that it comes with the parent pack which although it is a clip on seems sturdy enough to hold water bottle, keys, phone, tissues, etc. There is also a handy flag as well. ... show more
