  • Good quality bike
Size: 29-Inch Wheels Style: Aluminum Frame and Disc Brakes Color: Black/Green
The Schwinn High Timber with aluminum frame, disc brakes, black/green color scheme, and 29-inch tires, is an excellent bike, especially considering its price of under $400. However, being 5'11" tall, I found it too tall for me. Nonetheless, the return process was smooth, and I got a smaller bike.

  • The most beautiful bike:)
Size: 26-Inch Wheels Style: Aluminum Frame and Disc Brakes Color: Blue
Great quality bike. Feel good when people on the road peeking my bike:) There are complains that the fork is loose. Mine is loose originally. But following the instruction, I managed to get it as tight as I want. I agree with some complains that the derailleurs are not high quality. Sometimes some gear of the rear derailleurs have little noise no matter how I adjust the index though no functional issue. Maybe new model year can be improved. ... show more

  • Good but needs work!
Size: 27.5-Inch Wheels Style: Aluminum Frame and Disc Brakes Color: Yellow
I love the bike, actually light weight and a great around city bike that seems to be very accomplished for street and road use. If you don't care for the feel of and actual road style bike this one should be right up your alley. Love it but I may go with a set of tires with a less aggressive tread pattern thst work well on road and dirt. Saving my bike with full suspension for trail riding. There are some bugs Schwinn needs to work out though. The front derailleur was really sloppy. Needed to be adjusted 3 times before it set right. But noticed I would have problems after a while with shifting. Set it up and readjusted the high and low set screws. They keep backing out with time. So a little locktite and they are fine now but it is a problem that should be looked at maybe some nuts to lock them in place from factory. Other than that I love the bike. Came early and was easier to assemble then my more expensive bike.. I would definitely buy it again but I might go with some aftermarket parts. Who knows where it will take me. And with the custom paint color it doesn't get lost amonst others.... ... show more

  • Avoid This Bike and Avoid the Brand
Size: 26-Inch Wheels Style: Aluminum Frame Color: Navy Blue
This is such a bad bike. Some of the components started rusting immediately. The brakes are terrible and very nonadjustable so it's a safety problem in my opinion. One of the axles had to be replaced after hardly any use - it was just riding a mile to school. The brake handle mechanism is stupidly designed so it's very likely to not go back into place but instead catch on the outerframe which will keep your brakes partially engaged although you've stopped pressing them. The gear mechanism for shifting is shotty for the larger gears. The handle bar design is poor and the handles easily slide off. The wire for the brakes is incredibly cheap and easily frays (not just on the ends) and isn't very smooth. I've owned other Schwinns that were amazing machines. Those days may be gone. ... show more

  • Great bike for daughter age 9!
Size: 24-Inch Wheels Style: Steel Frame Color: Teal
Love this bike, it is perfect in size for our 9 year old daughter, and colors are beautiful! I followed measurement guide (google online guide) for wheel sizing. We bought the 24” wheels, steel frame, for 9 yr old with 26” inseam and 55” tall. It is perfect. This would also work for a kid with a 25” inseam and 53”+ tall (our 8 yr old). The bike itself is about 1-2 inches smaller in height than the Mongoose 21 speed Bike with 24” wheels (we liked both!). The seat and handlebars are adjustable but our 9 yr old fits perfectly with both at lowest, leaving room for bike to grow with her. *This took my husband about 90 minutes to assemble but we also removed the front wheel break per safety preference- both hand breaks are still on the handlebars, but only the one controlling the rear wheel break is usable (we just removed the actual front break part from the front wheel of the bike- which was a personal preference:) ). Our daughter loves it, great quality bike. Totally worth the buy and in this case definitely a “you get what you pay for” investment! ... show more

Came perfectly partially assembled. Is wicked fresh and I'm building it this weekend! Can't wait for so many great springs summers and falls with this perfect bike! Thanks so much.

  • Great bike, poor pre-assembly quality
Size: 27.5-Inch Wheels Style: Aluminum Frame and Disc Brakes Color: Yellow
Unfortunately I have to give this bike 3 out of 5 stars. The bike itself is awesome, it’s a very good quality mountain bike. However, I had to take it to a bike shop 2X after initial assembly because of issues with pre-assembled parts. For example, the bottom bracket was improperly assembled and very clunky. Also, the rear derailleur was not properly assembled so I had to get that fixed at the bike shop also. ... show more

  • need to finish assembling AND check that prior assembly was done correctly
Size: 24-Inch Wheels Style: Aluminum Frame Color: Red
This is a great bike and we foresee many years of use. It's sturdy and the individual pieces seem of high quality. My son has had it a few months and it's been good so far. However, as other reviews mentioned, this bike arrives only partially-assembled. You need some bike know-how and special tools to finish putting the bike together. The back wheel is not on, you need to put that on and figure out the gear assembly. Gear assembly needs some finessing to synch and may need additional adjustment to prevent it from catching or slipping. The front wheel was backwards and needed to be removed and flipped in order for the brake tread to work properly and safely. Even if the front wheel hadn't been backwards, it would have still needed to be removed because the brake line was twisted through the frame and couldn't work. If you didn't flip the front wheel and correct the brake line, you would not be able to brake the bike. Basically, it's as if they showed the people handling the partial assembly a picture, but provided no instruction or training in how to put it together. The lack of instruction extends to the buyer as the ones in the box are very unclear. If you don't know how a bike is supposed to work or have the right tools, you will NOT be able to do this yourself. If you know bikes and have a socket wrench set, budget at least an hour to correct and complete the assembly; if you don't, budget at least $100 to have the local bike shop correct and complete the assembly. ... show more
