  • Total Quality!!
The perfect addition to my beautiful contractor saw ! The installation is not to bad pretty much anyone that is handy can get it done. I bought a portable band saw from Harbor Freight to cut the tube and rails myself and it worked beautiful. I painted the ends after cutting and deburring with black enamel paint. The cuts were very straight and i suggest you get a 24 tooth blade for the band saw, the one that comes with the bandsaw is for wood or aluminum. Very happy with the finished product and total SawStop quality. By the way I paid $78.00 for the bandsaw thinking that i would just through it away when finished, Not so, that band saw is awesome you will want to keep it. If you have a outfeed table from saw stop you will not be able to use it unless you modify it The slots will no longer line up. One more thing i forgot to mention the extension table i had a problem with. You need to find a washer to fit in the slot behind the bolt head. I striped out the bolts that hold it in place and had to retap them. I placed a washer behind the bolt head that fit the slot and that fixed the problem. Take in mind i did this by myself if you have someone hold the extension table while you tighten the bolts it might help. I personally think the extension table should be much more user friendly to move without a wrench to lossen the bolts and move it. In sawstop defense you probably will never move it but if you need to cut at an angle that requires support its a hassle to move it. I think some screws like they have for every thing else would be more appropriate and much mor user friendly. The bolts need bigger heads to fit in the track! All in all i am very happy though and i hope this helps to understand this new saw stop option. ... show more

  • Really nice slider and very robust aluminum extrusions
Really nice slider and very robust aluminum extrusions. I have found a few quirks but they have been minimal and somewhat nit picky. One of the quirks is the absence of any 0/90 detent on the protractor head to return to after making angle cuts. You have to pull out a square and realign it with the blade. My last slider, shop fox, had one and it worked pretty well too bad the slider itself was of poor construction. This slider is also much larger than that of the Grizzy/Shop Fox model and the way the fence locks to the table is a vast improvement over those as well. This slider also has the option to leave on your left hand extension wing and not cut the fence tube, but that puts you a pretty good distance away from the blade, I opted to cut the fence tube for my set up as I rarely cut to the left of the blade. Over all it is worth the investment, although the price point is a bit high. ... show more

  • I really wanted to love this attachment but it isn't worth the money.
Pretty simple review. This sliding top attachment is incredibly expensive, I expected it to deliver exceptional performance. I it is "approximately accurate" but not reliably accurate. The miter guide does not return to zero consistently. The entire slide tends to droop if you are cutting long pieces that it is supporting which throws your cuts out of square. The linear slide is kind of a pain to adjust and frankly adjusting it doesn't help much. They need to offset the slide further away from the saw and probably use a different linear slide type. Would I buy it again? NO. There are cheaper alternatives I can modify to work better. ... show more

  • Nice product but looked different from advertisement pictures and videos.
I like this attachment. I can see that it will be useful and it was fairly easy to install on my Sawstop saw. The fence, however, was not the light grey color you always see in videos and pictures, it was black. The only thing that was light grey was the fence lock down knob. Calibration was fairly easy to accomplish. Overall, I like this addition to my saw. ... show more

  • SawStop sliding crosscut table
I spent lots of time reviewing the Luguna/grizzly vs the SawStop and finally decided on the SawStop. In short this thing is dead accurate right out of the box. The unit has several detents on the miter which was a major complaint from lots of reviewers in the past. I set up the miter (which was perfect right out of the box) when checked with a square. I loosened the 3 screws removing the miter & then reinstalled it. Was quite simple & when checked with a square showed "perfect" again. Since many reviewers claimed the miter required tweaking to get it perfect, I took a known parallel board cutting a shallow 90 degree slot. I continued flipping the board cutting the slots until the final slot met the initial slot. If the miter were off any amount the slots would not line up. My result was a perfect connection. I installed the SawStop sliding on my 15 year old Delta Unisaw with the left extension remainIngrid in place. It took a while to make a jig to use the SawStop holes while drilling new holes on the Unisaw cast iron wing. I oversized the new holes slightly and used the supplied nuts & bolts. I also set the slider flush with the front of the saw which eliminates the complains of front access. It does cut the cross cut capacity to about 39" Expensive but well worth the cost once you get over the initial shock. ... show more

This guide is not good. Pain to align and is in the way most of the time. If you going to buy a slide by the bigger one.

  • Love it at times - despise it at times
The Good: Sawstop customer service is the best I have dealt with in years. When set up correctly it cuts sheet good like a dream. Only a panel saw would seem better. The adjustable stops are stout and easy to use. Great for repeat cuts. Sliding mechanism is very smooth The Bad: No postive stops - in my experience this borders on being a huge problem for two reasons. First, it is not easy to get the fence square to the blade if you want to be very accurate. On the best of days it takes me 5 minutes to get it close enough to make a 48" cut square. Without positive stops I have to square the sliding table fence every time it is bumped or removed. And, I remove it regularly as the sliding table fence sits close enough to the blade that almost all cuts over 48" using the regular saw fence demand the sliding table fence be removed or swung out of the way (if the cut is less than 48" the sliding table can be moved back with fence in place forming a little pocket to work within). The fence then needs to be adjusted again as the mechanism for locking the fence to the sliding table is the same one that locks it square to the saw blade. It cannot be locked and removed. The other day I was making drawer sides to be dovetailed. Evidently the sliding table fence had been bumped and I found that about 3/4s of my cuts were not square and the maple had to be discarded (saved for smaller drawers hopefully). Joint, plane and cut again. I have an old Incra miter gauge with a positive stop that I could run into with a truck and it would not go out of square. This thing goes out of square way to easy and I am a pretty strong guy - I have locked it down hard and it seems to go out of square simply with time (and not enough of it) The legs are the same as provided for the table saw extension table. They just don't feel strong enough and can be bumped out of place easily making the table no longer even with the saw top. These legs also come with rubber covers to ride between the floor and the adjustment mechanism (essentially a bolt that screws up into the leg). The adjustment mechanism in mine were so tight that I could not adjust it with the rubber foot in place as the nut to tighten it rides in the rubber foot. The rubber foot had to be removed to adjust it and I ended up simply leaving them off. So now I have metal on concrete. All in all this sliding table feels like it was rushed to market. It has great potential but I would recommend waiting for a revision. It really needs a positive stop. Sawstop claims positive stops wear out over time and that is why they did not do it. I don't buy it. I have several things with positive stops I have owned for over ten years that are just fine. Perhaps a very heavy user could wear them out. Don't misunderstand. I don't regret buying this. It is a dream when it is set up correctly. I am building a house and working with lots of sheet goods. It is absolutely amazing when cutting larger panels and I have been cutting a lot of them. It is great for repeated cuts. When making cabinets, for example, the two stops could be adjusted for two cuts, and multiple panels of the exact same size can be cut in minutes. I also hate having to check it for square every few minutes just to be sure a fairly mellow bump did not knock it out of square. Advice: I bought this with a new Sawstop professional cabinet saw. I wanted to try it without removing the cast iron wing. If you want to do this you can go to the hardware store and buy longer bolts. You will then not have to tap the cast iron wing but can use the holes that are already there. Once I am done working with large sheet goods all the time I will take of the cast iron extension wing as the table is much more functional for angled cuts when it is moved in closer to the blade. Note: I apologize for any spelling errors and strange words. Evidently Amazon is adopting autocorrect and all kinds of bizarre words keep popping up whenever I mis-type a word. ... show more
